What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Ability to create more than one mindmap within a single file
A feature like multiple tabs within a google docs file.
Many people should find it useful
68 votesyou can now add multiple roots, disconnect nodes and float them, and manage multiple maps in the same file on mindmup 2.0.
If you use google drive, use https://drive.mindmup.com
if you use free storage or Gold storage, use https://app.mindmup.com

Change size of bubbles!!!
Need to be able to reshape the bubble to make it easier to read
56 votesthis is now supported using the new drawing engine, which allows users to define default sizes, colors, fonts etc for nodes. For more info, see http://blog.mindmup.com/p/custom-css-styling.html
we plan to work on this feature more over the next month and reduce the dependency on CSS. At the moment, styling the map requires a bit of CSS knowledge.

Paste from another application
Copy a list of items (seperated by linebrake?) from a text editor.
Paste as siblingsExtended functionality could take into consideration tabbed items as childs. Or support copy of nestet bullet lists.
Why: I often com a across lists other people make which I want to include in my mind maps
53 votesyou can now create maps by pasting from spreadsheets, bullet points in word, and tab separated text. check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCLpvyRXrh0 for a demo

map background color
I use Mindmup every day and I hope this feature will be implemented one day. It would make the maps more colorful and easier to read, which is an advantage for rote learning (among other things).
47 votesYou can now set the map background color using the customise theme tool, from “view → customise map theme”

Have Mindmup available as an app on iOS devices.
Will Minmup ever be developed as an app for iOS devices?
46 votesMindMup for iOS devices is now available for general use – we’re taking the Beta marker off, because we finally ensured that users of the mobile app are as productive as when using the desktop app.
For more info about the mobile app, and to install it on your iOS device, see http://discover.mindmup.com/mindmup-for-ios

multi-selecting nodes for editing lay-out
WHY: it's a time saver when I can multi select several nodes or a group of nodes to edit lay-out (see also 'editing lay-out of nodes')
46 voteswe now have a very easy way to automatically color a whole branch or a whole level, fold it, delete it, color it. You can read about it here: http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/06/we-now-suports-multi-select-and-group.html
Is this good enough for what you need, or is there something still missing?

Markdown for composing attachments
Using markdown to compose attachments would be fantastic. Often I need to include code blocks in the attachment and markdown makes this easy. Ideally I would like to use github markdown syntax (code fences!) with syntax highlighting
46 votesyou can now use markdown in notes in mindmup 2.0, and export those notes to a word doc or markdown or html easily
If you use google drive, use https://drive.mindmup.com
if you use free storage or Gold storage, use https://app.mindmup.com

Increase font size
Sometimes I want to save my mind map as a PDF so I can view it from anywhere or print it out. However, when I preview the image, the text is so small that it would be pointless to print it out. Please add this feature soon as it would be very beneficial in my studies.
45 votesyou can now change the text size in individual nodes easily. here’s how: https://youtu.be/AtIYtsAvSeE

Visually distinguish supporting and opposing reasons not just by color
The edges between nodes in argument maps should visually distinguish supporting and opposing reasons not just by color, since many people are red-green colorblind.
44 votesWe’re making argument visualisations more inclusive with a new visual theme for MindMup: https://www.mindmup.com/news/2020/10/28/argument-visualization-high-impact.html

Create map in the same folder the app was called from in GDrive
I simply find a bit annoying moving a newly created map to the folder I was working on every time I start a project. However after the map is moved it updates and save the changes to the new location.
42 votesmindmup 2.0 now works better with folders. see http://blog.mindmup.com/2015/10/mindmup-20-is-now-ready.html for more info

Having it support directed acyclic graphs instead of just trees would be awesome!
There are just some ideas that don't fit well into a tree structure.
42 votesYou should be able to do this now — check out https://www.mindmup.com/news/2017/09/08/concept-maps.html

Autosave to Google Drive
I also face restrictions on letting Apps connect to Google Drive, so I use linked accounts and have my mindmups on an ordinary gmail account. But that can be quite unstable and I keep losing edits (and there are frequent authentication issues). It would be great if Mindmup would autosave every few seconds
41 votesWith the release of realtime collab on Google Drive today (http://blog.mindmup.com/p/realtime-collaboration.html), you can also have remote autosave – same as google docs works. Just create a collaborative map and it will in effect be remotely autosaved google drive map.

Change to color of Connect lines so you can more easily track them
I would like to be able to change the color of all the Connect lines connected to a given node. This way if you have multiple nodes using Connect lines you can more easily determine the node of origin/destination.
41 votesthis is now available — just click the connector line and you’ll be able to change the colour

as a Mindmup user i would like to collaborate on mindmups with other Gold users.
My work recently discovered Mindmup. several of our teammates decided to buy their own licenses of Mindmup. it was great! it once we created a few maps we decided we need to go in and add some notes to other teammates maps but we cannot share those maps without them being published publicly. I feel that if you wish to share a map with someone, you should just have to add their email whether they have a different mindmup account or not.
39 votesthis is now possible for all existing gold users, you should just be able to load a map and collaborate with other people — use the share button in the top right corner and send an invite to another user.
for organisational gold users, you can also use the Share button to turn a private map into a “team map”, instantly available to all users of the same organisational account.

Printing Attachment
I would like to be able to print attachement. Mindmup is very useful for me, but not being able to print (or at least having a smartphone app) is very limitative when I need the info I stored here and not in front of my computer
35 votesyou can export to PDF to print on anything from small cards to huge posters. File→Export→PDF

Save Space
Smaller bubble cell padding, smaller bubble separation, no bubble on level 2 child nodes. WHY: screen fills too fast. This would work best along with the moved-nodes-don't-snap-back reorganization idea also implemented.
35 votesthis is now supported using the new drawing engine, which allows users to define default sizes, colors, fonts etc for nodes. For more info, see http://blog.mindmup.com/p/custom-css-styling.html
we plan to work on this feature more over the next month and reduce the dependency on CSS. At the moment, styling the map requires a bit of CSS knowledge.

Provide a visual indicator that a node has a note (as opposed to the paperclip which shows an attached file)
MindMup 1.0 showed an attached note as a paperclip. When opening a MindMup 2.0 there is no longer a visual clue on the node that it has a note
34 votesthis is now available on both app.mindmup.com and drive.mindmup.com
