while this is getting votes, just a quick note that this is already available as a three-step process:
1) use ctrl+x (or cmd+x on mac) to cut a subtree
2) Use File→new from clipboard (potentially in a new mindmup window) to create a new map from the cut tree. Save it and copy the URL from the browser
3) paste the URL into the original map as a new node – this will link to the new mapAn error occurred while saving the comment Ramesh - just add any text in the node next to the link and it becomes the link text

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex - 'never move' is something people often ask about but don't think through... what about parent moving? what about the root node moving? what about other nodes moving close to it...

alexxtasi – if gitlab has a sensible API that supports CORS, this shouldn’t be difficult to do. you should effectively reimplement https://github.com/mindmup/mindmup/blob/master/public/e/github.js
An error occurred while saving the comment if bitbucket has a http/s api with cors support, this should be pretty easy to do
An error occurred while saving the comment Zac - we can save to private github repositories as well, so for privacy just use github and create a private repo.

An error occurred while saving the comment what structured data? Can you give us a few examples?
Pierre - just drag a node and drop it on its parent, it becomes automatically positioned again
