What should we focus on next?

MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

  1. New mindmup update-v2.0 not the best!

I find the older version of mindmup much better-I think you guys are trying to automate too much of the interface in the new version. I think that what is most important is usability-which the previous version is successful for. The more you try automate features, the less usability.

  2. auto save on mindmup v2.0

So I use mindmups to study, and the automatic save doesn't work for me. Suppose I open a map and then expand a node, but I don't want it to automatically save the change-what do I do then?

  4. Update of the Webapplication for iOS - it doesn't work anymore, just the app

mindmup was a interesting tool for BYOD because you could edit a mindmap with different iOS without the need to install an app or to create an account. it would be great, if this would function again.

  6. Show more than 10 saved maps in menu. OR allow nested submenus of saved maps

I can only see 10 of my maps then they are not accessible unless I delete another map. Please make this a priority as I do not want to delete any of my maps.

  7. All the nodes (parent, child, sibling) to have a checkbox

Is it possible for all the nodes (parent, child, sibling) to have a checkbox? That way, status of activities can be tracked much easily.

Only when all children are marked complete, the parent checkbox should be allowed to take a tick or wrong sign.

  9. Allow google signed-out interactions for maps shared with anyone with the link

it would be quite useful to be able to contribute to a mindmup document saved in drive and shared with "modifications allowed by anyone with the link".

The Google docs app allows for example drive-stored docs be edited without having a google account, users appear as anonymous avatars, and this still allows real-time interactions.

This is quite useful for the case of collaborating real-time on a map with people that don't have a google account.

The mindmup document remains only accessible to people with the link, and is not publicly listed/indexed.

  13. Export a map to Open Document Presentation format (ODF Presentation - .odp)

I would be great to export the hole map or even better the slides created in Storyboard, to Open Document Presentation format. It's ODF Presentation (.odp).
Thus all users will be able to edit the presentation using LibreOffice. It would be better to support this format.

  16. Use Ace Editor for custom css styling

It should be fairly easy to add Ace editor (http://ace.c9.io/) to the textarea used for editing CSS.

  17. Make an inegration to Atlassian Confluence or create a plugin.

Im using a wiki - Atlassian Confluence all the time and I would like to use MindMup as mindmaps inside a wiki. I want ti share the awesome mindmaps with our team but mindmup.com would be another application to go to. It would be awesome to use one tool and have the MindMup plugin in Atlassian Confluence :)!

  18. A few "quality of life" improvements

    1. Multiple parent nodes
Why: For now, you can only have one idea per map and i would like to have a few main ideas interact with one another, like making sub-maps in one main map and connect them if needed.
It's not the same as multiple top children nodes because sometimes, ideas may not depend on one another, like the children nodes depend on their parent node.

    2. "Intelligent" custom connectors
Why: If possible, it should be enabled to set a side/sides of a node from where custom connectors originate as i often find it frustrating when it's not symmetrical or…

  19. Improve Readability : Automatically collapse nodes from a certain level and expand it with a mouseover

Particularly useful with large maps, it would be helpful to automatically collapse nodes from a certain level (defined by the user) and be able to expand it just with a mouseover.
This gives the user the possibility to manage the granularity, and it improves the readability and interactivity.

  20. Allow sharing of dropbox stored maps

The current dropbox integration utilises the app storage within Dropbox. This limits the ability to share the map beyond the immediate user.

I'd like to be able to have a dropbox stored map available to multiple users (by storing it in a standard folder), so that I can collaborate when I'm around and have others viewing or working while I'm not.
