Dedicated Android app please- Would give better workflow, easier to add child. More like simple mind. Best app otherwise
Unfortunately, we decided not to build the mobile app (and even to retire the iphone version). MindMup 2 should work well on mobile devices now, including Chrome on Android, and we don’t have the resources to build and maintain a separate app at this point.

I am new to Android programming, and am working on an app that will provide an interface to an appliance. The Android device the app will run on will be attached to the appliance and used only for controlling the appliance. The app I am working on will be the only app ever run on the dedicated Android device.

Workflow management is creating and optimizing the paths for data in order to complete items in a given process. It includes mapping out the workflow in an ideal state, finding redundant tasks, automating the process, and identifying bottlenecks or areas for improvement.

You may be looking for someone to fine-tune little things or govern the entire development process. Based on your needs, you can hire Android developers with various skill levels ‒ junior, middle, or senior.

Has it been taken into consideration that between this suggestion and the one seen here:
http://mindmup.uservoice.com/forums/200447-what-should-we-focus-on-next/suggestions/8306748-mindmup-app-available-on-android-devicesThat this idea has the 3rd most votes overall? Are there issues that make designing an android app more burdensome than the iOS app?
If this isn't feasible, I would agree with Marek Ulicny:
"Android app would be great but I think enhancing web for mobile would do the job." -

One option could be making MindMup an offline-enabled HTML5 app and then "pack it" into a simple Android Application.

I suggest contextual button around node. After clicking a node there would immediately appear contextual buttons, e.g. for adding other nodes (take a look at SimpleMind app and those small buttons around node - that's what I mean.)
Anyway. The Chrome app is great! Thanks a lot ;)

Since I work both on an android tablet and on a PC (and often switch between both for the same files), that would be extremely helpful - using mindmup in the android web browser is extremely cumbersome and awkward as, for some reason, the page doesn't load completely and I only have a two inch strip to work on... Plus, it requires me to long into GoogleDrive from the browser, even though I'm logged in via the GoogleDrive app on the tablet.

This would be fabulous! There is no good Android mind mapping app out there that also has desktop access that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. There are more options currently on iOS so I'm betting adding an Android app would spread news of Mindmup quickly.

Right. The website version is horrible when used with touch input.
I guess that improving the website is much easier then a brand new Java app. -

It's hard to add children, siblings and parents on android phones and tablets. (It evokes menu box - selects the menu 'Insert' - choose 'Add children etc.) It is much too cumbersome and slow. And risky since the 'Delete' button just below and inappropriately touched lightly. Menu box on pc works better.
I would prefer more choices placed directly on the node, as in Simple Mind the choice of children, siblings, text note and a menu button appears when the node is selected.
