What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Add hyperlinks to nodes/ add hyperlinks to texts ie text "Home" links to a webpage
This would allow developers to use the application and visually see the site structure.
If I had a series of pages, ie
Home page:
http://www.genetex.com/
pages on home menu:
http://www.genetex.com/Web/News/NewsList.aspx
http://www.genetex.com/Contact%20Us
about,
products
etc,..this feature would make mindmup perfect for mapping out a website layout. This would add another bit of unique value in that I feel developers need this, especially as a tool to communicate with their clients.
2 votesyou can already achieve this easily https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/linking.html

ensure gdpr approval or all schools in the UK will have to stop using Mindmup2
If Mindmup 2 doesn't meet the new GDPR regulations in May 2018 then all pupils and staff will have to stop using it.

Export Notes as well as Nodes to DOCX. Users can create/edit entire documents in MindMup in a visual way.
Export Notes as part of the DOCX export - that way users can create and edit complete documents or presentations in MindMup. It is much easier to organize and edit a large document in the form of a mind map. The mind map can be used as a summary (or presentation) while the exported DOCX can be used as an 'official' document (often required in academic and business situations).
3 votesthis is already supported, the feature is under exporting the outline as docx, just select to include the notes.

The ability to add a child node coming from more than one parent node. (Multiple Parent Nodes)
I have a mup that I am making but I have come across a small issue. In my mup I need to show that two items coming together cause another. (So two parents nodes coming together cause the child.) I need the ability to show a child node coming from both parent node equally rather than connected to one fully and the other with and extra line.
3 votesuse the concept mapping features in this case: https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/concept_mapping.html
-
connect child nodes to show a relationship eg reconciliation
Allow use of lines from child or sibling to another child or sibling to show a relationship - without reference to the node.
3 votesthis is already possible, just use the connector tool. check out the “showing relationship” part of https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/concept_mapping.html

Have other people collaborate on the same mindmup at the same time together
When you and another person are collaborating on a mindmup together you can work simitaneously at the same time together, without having the system mess up or not work.
3 votesthis is now available to all gold users when using MindMup Cloud storage. financially, it’s not sustainable for us to offer this service to free users.
collaboration is available to free users when saving maps to Google drive (https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/google-drive.html) but Google will remove this capability in December 2018. Check out https://www.mindmup.com/resources/google_realtime_deprecation.html for more details

Ensure Google Docs Collaboration Works after Realtime API is Deprecated November 2018
Mindmup's Google drive and realtime API based collaboration are two fundamental "killer" features, without them the product loses out very substantially to competitors.
Google will pull the realtime API November 2018, after this time those documents and features will likely stop working.
https://developers.google.com/google-apps/realtime/deprecation
It's essential (imho) to the future of Mindmup that effort should be put in now to ensure this does not affect user's existing work (it still loads after this time without any changes/conversion) and that those same app features are available after the API is withdrawn.
29 votesIt’s now possible to convert maps that used realtime api to plain google files, and edit them. we also added some features to warn users about remote changes, and merging in remote changes.

Graph improvement : Ability to have none (or bi) directional connector
Now that we are able to have graphs (thy btw) we don't necessarily need the connection to be oriented or we want to show that it's both way (uml association)
3 votesyou can create concept maps with non-directional, directional and bidirectional links already. check out this for more information

I'd like to be able to created unlinked objects, and connect them later.
I work with students who struggle with organizing their thoughts and ideas. Being able to put them down at random and then organize and link them later would be useful.
1 voteyou can already do this, see https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/concept_mapping.html

Hi,
sorry for the late response, this was buried in the list due to just 3 votes. Collaboration features for Gold users have been supported for a while now, see https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/mindmup-cloud.html#sharing for more information.

File list vs image previews
For me is very uncomfortable the new interface with map image previews.
Could you go back to the old list mode or add it as an option?
It would be far less chaotic for those who has several small maps: the
list with titles is easy to read in one shot.1 votewe’ve updated the page to allow you to switch back to the list.

as a Mindmup user i would like to collaborate on mindmups with other Gold users.
My work recently discovered Mindmup. several of our teammates decided to buy their own licenses of Mindmup. it was great! it once we created a few maps we decided we need to go in and add some notes to other teammates maps but we cannot share those maps without them being published publicly. I feel that if you wish to share a map with someone, you should just have to add their email whether they have a different mindmup account or not.
39 votesthis is now possible for all existing gold users, you should just be able to load a map and collaborate with other people — use the share button in the top right corner and send an invite to another user.
for organisational gold users, you can also use the Share button to turn a private map into a “team map”, instantly available to all users of the same organisational account.

attach documents from google Team drive
When I create a map within a teamDrive, I would like to be able to add documents which are also stored in this same TeamDrive.
This feature is important as we are deploying teamDrives and we try to limit the usage of personal google Drives
1 voteWe just updated MindMup with support for file attachments from team drives. This update will be globally available in about 30 minutes.

Do you have a setting for those who are red/green colourblind? (like dotted lines for objections)
In the argument mapping mode, can we have a setting for anyone who is red/green colourblind, so they can easily spot the difference between supporting reasons and objections? (Like dotted lines for objections -- also handy for students who just have monochromatic printers to print out their maps)
9 votesWe’re making argument visualisations more inclusive with a new visual theme for MindMup: https://www.mindmup.com/news/2020/10/28/argument-visualization-high-impact.html

get URL to map I've already published
there is no possibility to get URL for map I've already been published
So currently I've to unpublish map and publish it again just to see/copy URL to it.
Not so handful.1 voteHi, this is now possible — see https://www.mindmup.com/news/2017/10/10/view-published-atlas.html for more info

My feedback
I can't change font size and border of node. I have difficult moving the node.
Thank you for free
0 votesyou can now change the text size in individual nodes easily. here’s how: https://youtu.be/AtIYtsAvSeE

Make nodes resizable
I would like to be able to scale a node, either directly, or by assigning a style to it (as in MS Word's Heading 1, Heading 2, ... type 'styles').
I would like this so that some nodes are larger & have bigger text than others to highlight their importance.
Yes you could do that with colour, but the significance would need to be looked up in a key as colour is not as intrinsic an indicator of importance in a diagram as size is.
9 votesyou can now change the text size in individual nodes easily. here’s how: https://youtu.be/AtIYtsAvSeE
You can also resize the node by dragging the right edge
