What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Automatically save any changes in the current MindMup
I guess I'm getting used to working with Google Docs & Sheets... I'd like my work to be saved automatically as soon as I change something on the MindMup I'm working on so I don't have to press the button "save" every time.
3 votesthis is already supported: http://blog.mindmup.com/p/auto-saving.html

Paste to Microsoft Word
As in FreeMind, I would love the ability to copy a node and paste it as an indented list into a Microsoft Word document. Makes great indecies and lists.
7 votesYou can use file→export and export to indented text or html formats, both are good for this purpose

Create map in the same folder the app was called from in GDrive
I simply find a bit annoying moving a newly created map to the folder I was working on every time I start a project. However after the map is moved it updates and save the changes to the new location.
42 votesmindmup 2.0 now works better with folders. see http://blog.mindmup.com/2015/10/mindmup-20-is-now-ready.html for more info

Can you allow us to add sibling directly above or below the highlight node instead of always the bottom?
e.g., in mindmanager, "shift+enter" allow us to add sibling directly above the highlighted node. "Enter" allow us to add sibling directly below the highlighted node. This is much more convenient than always add to the bottom then manually move it to the place you want. Can you help with this feature? Thanks very much for this great app!
1 votethis is now live, shift+enter adds a node above, and enter is changed to add a node directly below

Import form Freemind
I think that would be important to allow free maps from other major platform that is FreeMind.
3 votesimport from freemind should already work. just use file→open/import→from local drive and select a freemind file. this will also work for freemind files stored in google drive, github or dropbox. if a particular file does not work for you, please get in touch at contact@mindmup.com so we can troubleshoot

Ability to be able to donate to MindMup
I've been using MindMup for the last month or so and am already hooked. I started using it after I created a Mindmap on another product which I then couldn't export because I wasn't a paid user. It was a disaster. A lot of Googling led to the discovery of MindMup and I've been sharing its advantages with friends ever since. I especially like this forum and the ability to communicate with other users about beneficial additional features. I would like to make occasional donations to express my gratitude and keep the product free for other users so could you…
9 votesHi,
Can you donate a bit of time instead of money? Here are some options that would mean a lot more than a bit of cash:

Double Width Node - via Toggle.
I find myself writing...or cutting and pasting text in larger blocks that can be comfortably fit in the node width.
I know that providing freely size-able nodes would be problematic.
How about a simple toggle that allows for single width and double width nodes on an individual node basis?
My current map has 300 nodes or so...but only 5 or 6 are big enough that the columnar shape of them is a problem.11 votesthe new drawing engine allows users to define default sizes, colors, fonts etc for nodes. This enables you to control word wrapping and box sizing as well. For more info, see http://blog.mindmup.com/p/custom-css-styling.html
we plan to work on this feature more over the next month and reduce the dependency on CSS. At the moment, styling the map requires a bit of CSS knowledge.

Calving.
The ability to select a node... and then create a new mindmup from that node and its offspring.
Perhaps 2 options.
"Move to new mindmup"
and
"Copy to new mindmup"For me..."move" would be the more often used action.
7 votesthis is now done. you can just cut and paste (or copy and paste) a submap into a new map. see http://blog.mindmup.com/2014/03/you-can-now-copy-paste-across-maps.html for more information

Default node colors provide too little contrast with the text
It would be great if the default colors available were lighter to make it easier to read text on colored nodes. WCAG 2 provides some guidance on good contrast to increase readability of content: http://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG20/quickref/#qr-visual-audio-contrast-contrast

I would like to have the posibility of starting more "rootparents" in the same map
When in planing mode of a structure, I often get the ideas in an unsorted way. To keep them, it would be great to have the possibility to put them on the map immediately including som child nodes and afterward just have to connect them to the main structure in an reasonably way.
508 votesyou can now add multiple roots, disconnect nodes and float them, and manage multiple maps in the same file on mindmup 2.0.
If you use google drive, use https://drive.mindmup.com
if you use free storage or Gold storage, use https://app.mindmup.com

A search function is required for both node names & their contents.
A search function for both node names & their contents.
Be able to link attachment contents to other nodes.
If duplicated a node should display a counter ( aka what number it is, duplicate 1,2 or 3.)
Intelligent node linking/monitoring. ( an A.I feature which suggests nodes be linked or if they're superflous.)
1 voteYou can now search for nodes in a map – just use ctrl/cmd+f – see http://blog.mindmup.com/2014/02/use-ctrlcmdf-to-search-maps.html for more info

Inherit folder sharing permissions when creating/saving a map into Google Drive
Mindmup files don't inherit sharing settings of their folder when mindmup creates them. This is different behaviour than when creating other documents in folders -- new documents created in a shared folder are usually shared automatically.
Working out why remote colleagues can't see a mindmup wasted a couple of days of time recently.
14 votesmindmup 2.0 handles folders/permissions much better, including inheriting sharing permissions. see mindmup 2.0 now supports multiple google drives. see http://blog.mindmup.com/2015/10/mindmup-20-is-now-ready.html for more info for more info

Save a file with a name different than whatever the top parent node is named.
If there's a way to do this, I haven't figured it out yet. For example, I'd like to make a map named "Home Wireless Network" to contain my network layout with each component's network address and vital information. But my central bubble is my router, which isn't named "Home Wireless Network".
4 votesmost of the comments below seem to be about google drive. this is supported with 2.0 for google drive (https://drive.google.com) so I’ll close the issue.

Edit a node's link manually
I discovered you can add a hyperlink to a node if you set the node's text to the URL. But, since that's not very nice to read I'd rather be able to put in whatever simple text for the node and set the link myself. That way I can have a node that says "Article about sportscar" and link it to some ridiculously long URL.
I'd like this to also combine with the idea here: http://mindmup.uservoice.com/forums/200447-what-should-we-focus-on-next-/suggestions/4139148-link-to-jump-to-different-node to link to other nodes too.0 votesHi,
your comment is correct – if the node has any other text than the hyperlink then the hyperlink is hidden (even if it’s not too long). To edit the text or the hyperlink just press space or double-click the node.

Integrate with a private AWS S3 account
This allow the MindMup able to open a map from private AWS S3 bucket and able to save to butcket. Currently I found there are S3 options for startup the MindMup, but somehow it will say "there was a network issue..." when save the the MindMup option. So I guess thers is some thing not work yet for this case.
6 votesthis is because your s3 bucket is not configured for CORS. You need to configure S3 for this.

Link nodes to maps / Slide maps
When you have a huge map that is not usefull, so could be nice to slide a huge map and let the connection between the child maps and the parent, or also to make different maps and joint them by some nodes, or link a node to some other map, to easy navigate between small information. This is nice to laptop, where the screen is tiny and also the memory.
29 votesIf I understand correctly what you’re suggestng here, this already works.
each map has a unique URL, and you can just paste the map URL into a node of a different map to link them. See http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/03/hyperlinks-in-nodes.html for more info on how hyperlinks in nodes work.
