What should we focus on next?

MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

  1. ability to drill down mode on tablets and smartphones for review

mindmup is dependent on a desktop and or a laptop but when your a student on the go and needs something light to carry such as a tablet or a smartphone

when i open mindmup on a tablet and or smartphone thru mindmup website and i try to move the screen up and down, it accidentally moves the nodes to a different position making it a little annoying to put them back in the correct place when i get home on a desktop or a laptop.

a drill-down or review mode where you can click on the nodes to display…

  2. Have a sort of circular style for the map themes

Like the typical mind maps, where the nodes go out from their parent in a radial direction, instead of only left and right

  3. Can previous maps list be organised by map creation or modification date? or be Searchable?

When I try to open a previously created map and saved on Mindmup Gold I notice they are all alphabetically organised as per file name. This frequently makes it tricky to find the specific map I am looking for (I have created over 100, and dont always remember specific name).

Is it possible to change the arrangement so that maps list is organised as per map creation or modification date? Or Search functionality using key words?

    Thanks

  4. Search within NOTES, not just Node Titles

I've voted for the ability to Search in Attachments, but also need the ability to search within NOTES. If these can two processes can be developed together, great, otherwise, I figured this needs to be a separate topic. Here is a a link the other, related idea: (https://mindmup.uservoice.com/forums/200447-what-should-we-focus-on-next/suggestions/5779806-please-extend-the-search-to-text-within-node-attac)

  5. Ability to have notes displayed on map downloadaed as PNG

I do not see any integration of Mindmup to JIRA.I can see it only to google drive.

The only way I can upload my test scripts to JIRA is to download it as PNG and add it to Confluence Page.

Unfortunately with current application theres is no way to download it with Notes.

Well, my first preference would be to have integration with JIRA/Confluence.

    Thanks

  7. Merge two "MindMups" to one

Being able to merge another MindMup as a child or sibling to your own "MindMup" will allow people to work on their own part (sibling or child) of a bigger project, and the project manager can be able to put all "sub-mups" (child and siblings) together to a complete project MindMup.
An alternative to merging MindMup's would be making it possible to assign a "child" or a "sibling" to a collaborator and that the only prt of a bigger project he can edit and develop.

  9. Progress - Ability to assign tasks to people

The ability to have a list of people and then assign tasks to those people.
Then have a way to list or show the tasks assigned to a specific person.
This could be added to Measurements with the ability to add a text field that only shows on the last end nodes as you would not want any calculation.
You could then download to a spreadsheet as well.
Then you would need a way to list only the nodes with a particular person assigned but this is not essential.

  11. Generate Gantt charts with dates i/o and costs for common project tasks management

To clic a button to generate Gantt charts with noted dates (begin & end) and costs calculation for common project tasks management could be a very good improvement to MindMup, you don't think so ?
Also of course if the dates can also be linked to Google Agenda in the same time, it could be an heaven !

  12. line thickness based on importance in mindmup 2.0

I find the small lines between nodes quite small. In the official Tony Buzan interpretation of mindmapping:
"The central lines are thicker, organic and flowing, becoming thinner as they radiate out from the centre."

As for the organic and flowing part: well done. However, line thickness stresses the importance of a node and as such, I'd like to have it in mindmup 2.0!

  14. Export text as text to SVG (not as paths)

Currently MindMup 2.0 exports text to SVG as parths, not as text. This means that the text in the SVG file cannot be selected or edited as text. Please export text as real text to SVG (not paths), or at least add the option to do so.

  15. integrate google calendar

Allow users to insert a date/calendar entry into MindMup that syncs with google calendar. That way, when a user sees the calendar entry in the calendar they can click on the file and open the attached mindmup.

  16. Multiple Siblings to have a single Child

When creating multiple siblings I would like to flow them all into one child node, this would allow a continued flow of thought without leaving a child node open ended. When this idea I can go from 3 sibling to 1 child to 3 siblings again. Currently I cannot do this.

  17. convert file:// urls (local filesystem) to hyperlink

the fast hyperlink on the node is very convenient, what about converting also the urls starting with file:// and allow the user quickly accessing their local filesystem in the browser?

  18. Nested tagging. Use sidebars. 1.To list & arrange tags 2.Click on tag(s) to see and rearrange nodes in this view only

Ha. Didn't realise I'd get to describe. Basically, I'd like to use taking to create another layer of node organisation. So, my map has ToDo items arranged by project, but i can tag for "who's responsible" and "when" and "where". One node can have multiple tags. Nested tag hierarchy can be seen/adjusted in a sidebar. Click on tag to view nodes in another sidebar and, ideally, be able to move around the sequence (for better planning) in the sidebar without affecting their position on the map.

Example: "Meet with vendor mgr" node is tagged, "Wed" "Sue" "City Arena". See all…

  20. Scale sections of mind map to fill areas of any selected paper size

It would be great if we could easily scale sections of a mind map in order to optimize the space of any paper size allowing the text size to be as large as possible. Right now I am ending up with wasted space and print too small to read.
