What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Add a name tag to an argument brace or proposition
When I map debates, I wish I could check at a glance the source of an argument or proposition. Simple name tags fixed to the corner of a proposition or argument brace would achieve this. I imagine the author's name in a small box. I use Notes for attribution now, but I must open a separate panel to see the author(s). This feels cumbersome. Consider these reasons for adding a visible name tag:
In a two-person debate, the pro side may advance a con argument and vice versa. A mere red or green line does not imply authorship, then. Moreover,…

[Google Docs Add-on to export] OR [Mindmup command to import] table of contents to a node in a new or existing map
Create a nodes structure from a Google Docs table of contents into a node in a new or existing map.
I would love to create a Master Map out of multiple documents based on their respective table of contents structure.5 votes -

expand notes
I might just be missing how to do this but is there a way to expand the notes you add to a node so they are visible on the mind map. For example, to study different pharmacological therapies I would write the medication as a child node and then write addtl notes. It would be a great study tool to have one map with all of the different notes visible under each node (parent/child/sibling) and have another map with just the nodes visible (to practice filling in the information that was in the notes). Thanks!

Make objections against inferences visually clearer
In argument visualization, you can add an objection to a whole argument, not just against a specific proposition. That's great and important, since you may want to accept the truth of all premisses yet deny that they support the conclusion.
But right now, visually, it's a red line appearing inside the green brace. It's not clear. Maybe anchoring a red line in the green line of the argument against which you level an objection would be clearer.

Need ability to "pin" a root node to a fixed location
Would love the ability to "pin" a root node to a fixed location...ideally to a location on the screen. That way I can use a root node to store reusable notes/content to be dragged and dropped into another map that may be very large. For example, a grant proposal or other large/complex document that when opened would force the "content" node off the canvas.

Hover over node to instantly show the "note" and have a 2 stage hover
When hovering over a node the attached note instantly appears. This can be a set size of x characters and x number of lines. Right next to the mouse position there is an arrow or radio button or similar icon, that if hovered over, displays the rest of the note. The arrow or radio button would only appear near the mouse position if the note was large enough to warrant further exposure.

Add default options for Responses to Objections and Questions
The reasons and objections structure is useful for mapping out arguments but is incomplete without being able to add responses to objections (which can be distinct from reasons for a position) or questions that don't amount to an objection since you have a response to them (but which might be common enough to merit attention in discussing an argument).
It would be great if there was a way to add Responses and Questions in a similar way to how reasons and objections are added, with different colour coding (perhaps blue for responses and purple for questions of similar).
The best…

Bullet points within a node
Being able to post a numbered or unordered list within a node would condense the graph and improve readability if users desire to do so

drill down
when im using mindmup online with google drive, when i try pasting the link of the sub map on a node, and when i click again, it just opens in another window, where i again have to open it using mindmup. a proper drill down is where everything happens in the same windows with ease of switching back and forth seamlessly. it is one feature mind maps absolutely need. people who dont think so are the one who havent used this feature, like on xmind.
