Draw lines more directly between nodes
Can you make Mindmup draw lines more directly between nodes. At the moment I can see the structure of small maps but larger maps become hard to understand because lines between nodes start from the middle of the source node's edge and overshoot the destination node, curving back towards it.
we’ve done an extension that draws completely straight lines. go to extensions→straight lines, that should do the trick of managing larger maps.
the visual plugin that allows customisation of line types and node types is a good idea but it’s a separate thing, so I suggest submitting a new idea for that and we’ll put it to a vote

Adam, I guess you were referring to something else, as the comment doesn't have a lot to do with more direct line drawing.
to add a hyperlink to a node just type the URL (or paste it). this will create a hyperlink associated with a node. (See http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/03/hyperlinks-in-nodes.html). Thanks for the suggestion for drawing, that sounds nice and we'll investigate it. the only thing that would be problematic there is drawing between nodes on a larger map where both can't be on the same page.

Cool feature, but the wording "Add Link" had me trying to use it to add a url link to the node. Maybe "Add Line" would be more obvious. If you look at how LucidChart does it they do 'draw' line and then you can get a little crosshair that you can just drag between the two nodes. That would be the best IMHO. Great work on MindMup, keep it up!

Upvote for the plugin. That's the right way to do it.

Errr... second control point I mean.

I see this as a rendering problem that affects the whole map, rather than a styling issue.
I'm not sure how you're drawing the lines between nodes but I'm guessing cubic splines. In which case, the control points should have the same y coordinate as the end point, so that they curve gently towards the end rather than overshoot in the y axis and curve back down.
