What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Ability to add an arbitrary label (text or image) to a node
It is often the case that a node is to be highlighted by text or an image. Having that ability along with options to position it anywhere within a node would be really helpful feature.

Flash warning if I have many unsaved changes
I've had the situation a couple times where I didnt save and accidentally closed chrome to update windows and lost some work.
Could you please have the "unsaved changes" be flashing if I have more than x number or x minutes of unsaved work ? I could then either save or turn autosave on or press "ignore"
If this is a feature that everyone may not like, maybe you could make it a preference.1 vote -
Share to google classroom
It would be great if there was a direct link to share the mindmup directly onto google classroom.

Allow Overlap
Sometimes I want the maps to overlap or get closer to each other than the program allows. Kind of like the "allow overlap" option in XMind.

Prominent Display of Document Size
Make the size of the current document visible in the menu. This would be useful for free users to see how much of their 100kb size limit has been used.

Styling presets
Provide the ability to create named presets for node and edge styles so that we can just apply styles based on them. For instance, we might have a node class "solution" coloured green, and a node class "issue" coloured red. Changing the styling on the class changes the style everywhere.

Ability to change font colour of notes
The light grey colour of the notes makes it quite hard to read. I often lay out an essay with the map and expand ideas in the notes. Trying to read those ideas while typing in another doc with the light grey is difficult. Something more prominent would be ace.

Include Hyperlinks when converting mindmaps from Freemind to Mindmup
I converted some Freemind mindmap files to Mindmup. All hyperlinks are gone.
Is there a reason why hyperlinks, attached to nodes in Freemind, aren't copied in the node text in Mindmup?
This is the only reason preventing me from switching to Mindmup as my mindmapping tool.1 vote -

See the color hex names in the color pallette
I like using shift+space and quickly typing the name of the color I want, but I don't always know the color. There are hundreds of hex colors (https://www.color-hex.com/color-names.html) and I'm not great with eyeball matching. I also haven't found any docs on the website listing which colors are supported. This is the only page I could find to look:

As a user who wants to type the name of my desired color I should be able to know which colors are available.1 vote -
Sharing doesn't work when logged in with multiple google accounts
I have multiple google accounts, but use mindmup with my gmail account, however when logged in to multiple accounts the sharing doesn't work. The modal window just hangs and doesn't show any content.
1 votethat’s likely a bug in the google widget, so it’s outside of our control; however you can always share google maps directly from the drive web app (https://drive.google.com) – this should work even with multiple accounts signed in.

Theme Straight Lines connects texts' tail and head.
The original (maybe before 2020/07/20) theme, which connects from parent's tail to child's head, is so great!
But the new theme changed to connect their centers, then I'm really hard to read the hierarchy, their alignment became not so clear.
And I still wanna use "Straight Line" instead of "Standard", 'coz of it's simplism.1 vote -
Option to hide/reveal connections or lines between nodes in Concept maps
When a child node has several parent nodes, connecting the child node to one parent node and linking with lines to other parent nodes is the option that we are currently using. This way the map is looking little bit clumsy with many connections and lines. If there is a way to hide/reveal these lines that'll make the presentation neat and easy to understand.

Ability to select a subtree of an existing mind map and create a new map out of it
For now managed this by selecting a subtree, doing a copy, asking to start a new map and pasting. Would be nice to just select the subtree and have Mindmup take a 'start new mindmap request'.
Also, there seems to be a bug - when I select a subtree and paste it onto a new one, it shows multiple cross linkages over and beyond the original one.1 vote -

Default should be arrows going up
I love the new arrow function and the high-impact argument visualization. But I think the default option is that the arrows go up, not down. The arrows are supposed to indicate the direction of support. So, premise P supports a conclusion C if P gives us a reason to believe C, which means that the direction of rational support goes from the premise to the conclusion. Hence, the arrow should point from the premise to the conclusion. This is how argument mapping has traditionally been done, at least, for many years: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_map

Allow us to show links across trees in top down maps.
Top-down maps are great. But I would like to be able to show co-dependencies across trees.
At the moment the only way to show links between nodes in different branches of different trees is the straight-line arrow. It would be great to to be able to bring together node connections that have a different hierarchical origin.
