What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

save svg online (option) as you do for PDF
Please give users option to save SVG to the AWS server. That way users can just share a link as opposed to download, attach, email the SVG. Thank you.
1 votesorry for the late reply, just noticed this as it had only one vote. This has been possible for a few months now.

Create closed loops
I would like to be able to create closed loops. For example, if my map included the Krebs cycle (which contains a closed loop) I would like to connect the "last" node of the loop (oxaloacetate) to the "first" node (citrate).
Along the same lines would include having multiple parents for a given node.
1 votethis is now possible, check out https://www.mindmup.com/news/2017/09/08/concept-maps.html

So currently I've to unpublish map and publish it again just to see/copy URL to it.
Not so handful.1 voteHi, this is now possible — see https://www.mindmup.com/news/2017/10/10/view-published-atlas.html for more info

attach documents from google Team drive
When I create a map within a teamDrive, I would like to be able to add documents which are also stored in this same TeamDrive.
This feature is important as we are deploying teamDrives and we try to limit the usage of personal google Drives
1 voteWe just updated MindMup with support for file attachments from team drives. This update will be globally available in about 30 minutes.

File list vs image previews
For me is very uncomfortable the new interface with map image previews.
Could you go back to the old list mode or add it as an option?
It would be far less chaotic for those who has several small maps: the
list with titles is easy to read in one shot.1 votewe’ve updated the page to allow you to switch back to the list.

I'd like to be able to created unlinked objects, and connect them later.
I work with students who struggle with organizing their thoughts and ideas. Being able to put them down at random and then organize and link them later would be useful.
1 voteyou can already do this, see https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/concept_mapping.html

ensure gdpr approval or all schools in the UK will have to stop using Mindmup2
If Mindmup 2 doesn't meet the new GDPR regulations in May 2018 then all pupils and staff will have to stop using it.

Add hierarchical numbering to standard maps.
This feature is really useful in Argument Visualisation mode, so I end up converting my maps to this format so I can refer to the numbered hierarchy.
1 votewe have an initial version of this feature, you can activate it with view→labels

Offer and quick and easy to enter my list of mindmups without needing to click several buttons on different screens.
When I am ready to work I want to begin NOW. Dealing with a few clicks before starting is irritating.
1 votejust go to https://app.mindmup.com and click on the button to open an existing file, or even bookmark https://app.mindmup.com/files-gold.html and start there. no clicks needed

Restrict access to team by only allowing team members to view maps.
Currently, if you create a team, everyone in the organization can view the team maps. For academic purposes, we need to be able to limit access to only members of the team.
1 votewith maps saved to MindMup cloud storage, you can add sub-teams (parts of the organisation), and then share maps with subteams. that way, only the people in a smaller group can see the map. See https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/mindmup-cloud.html#team for more information.

Task completion check button
I use Mindmup to to track milestones and critical tasks. It would be very helpful to have a one-click function that would add a checkmark to the node (or change node style) to indicate that the task has been completed. Changing to colour is a pain in the ass in the current version - too many steps.
1 votecheck out the progress sidebar, does exactly that https://www.mindmup.com/tutorials/progress.html

For argument mapping, distinguish between pros and cons with different kinds of lines and not just color
Some users are red/green color blind. Perhaps an objections could be a red arrow that is composed of dashes, or that has a dash through it.
1 voteWe’re making argument visualisations more inclusive with a new visual theme for MindMup: https://www.mindmup.com/news/2020/10/28/argument-visualization-high-impact.html

Refresh connecting lines after expanding/collapsing nodes
Currently, when I've drawn a line from Node1 to connect to Node2, it appears to anchor not to Node2 (absolute) but rather to the location on the screen where the node is currently rendered (relative).
So, once I expand or collapse another tree that affects the current location of the connected nodes, the line coming out of Node1 doesn't point/connect to Node2 anymore.
A manual screen Refresh is required to restore the connections (which loses the user the map focus).
1 votehi – thanks for reporting this, there was an issue affecting some maps and should be fixed now.

Export to word, node as Titles
MindMup ---------------------> Word
Main Title ---> Main Title
Level 1 ---> Title 1
Level 1 Notes ---> Normal Text
Level 2 ---> Title 2
Level 2 Notes ---> Normal Text
Level 3 ---> Title 3
Level 1 Notes ---> Normal Text1 votethis is how ‘export as outline’ already works; you can choose if you want headings or bullets, and optionally include notes

It would be great if we could change reasons into objections and vice-versa
Sometimes my students want to toggle between reasons and objections, turning one into the other. At present, they have to copy the text from a reason, then delete the reason, then create an objection and paste the text in. This is rather laborious. There is a "Toggle reason/objection" button, but it's greyed out.
1 votethis already works, but the students need to select the group overline (red/green) to activate the toggle. just click the overline to select it.
otherwise, if a claim is selected, it can only be toggled into an implicit/explicit claim.

Do not record (or opt out) fold/unfold in History
History is a powerful feature, but the information on changes is lost in the overcrowded history of fold/unfold which do not bring value.
So I would not record fold/unfold events in history, or at a minimum be able to opt out of recoding these events.1 votethe history list now shows only important events; check out https://www.mindmup.com/news/2023/01/12/history-ephemeral.html for more information

Upload an image and use it as background
The backgroud image, allied to the possibility of repositioning the node, would make very good to create explanatory and theme maps.
0 votesthis is now supported using the new drawing engine, which allows users to define default sizes, colors, fonts etc for nodes. For more info, see http://blog.mindmup.com/p/custom-css-styling.html
we plan to work on this feature more over the next month and reduce the dependency on CSS. At the moment, styling the map requires a bit of CSS knowledge.

Edit a node's link manually
I discovered you can add a hyperlink to a node if you set the node's text to the URL. But, since that's not very nice to read I'd rather be able to put in whatever simple text for the node and set the link myself. That way I can have a node that says "Article about sportscar" and link it to some ridiculously long URL.
I'd like this to also combine with the idea here: http://mindmup.uservoice.com/forums/200447-what-should-we-focus-on-next-/suggestions/4139148-link-to-jump-to-different-node to link to other nodes too.0 votesHi,
your comment is correct – if the node has any other text than the hyperlink then the hyperlink is hidden (even if it’s not too long). To edit the text or the hyperlink just press space or double-click the node.
