What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Shortcuts for templates and patterns
Create and apply patterns (like in Freemind). For reference, the shortcuts in FM are F1-F9, Ctrl + (F1-F9).

More padding (whitespace) around a map
I like to be able to position the current portion of whatever I am currently working on in the centre of my screen. The amount of padding around the map that the tool allocates doesn't allow this - I try to drag the background so that the furthest node on the screen is in the centre but I am unable to do so.
I find having my current idea centered helps me concentrate.
In addition, the floating toolbar covers up the nodes on the right of the screen. I can move the toolbar, but it makes more sense to be…

I'd like to see a way to add a text box so that some of the item connections could be elaborated on.
I'd like to see a way to add a text box anywhere in the map, so that some of the item connections could be elaborated on.

To be able to create notes that show a little more information when a bubble is hovered over
Sometimes, I dont want to make a whole node just for a note, especially when this is grouped oddly. I want it to be able to pop up with a little note that I enter in text that helps explain the box without making a new node

Swap two nodes
It would be nice if there were a possibility to swap two nodes. Currently, it is something inconvenient.

Better color picker
Is it possible to make one-click color picker, e.g. as in Photoshop?
Two clicks are only to exchange the current color.9 votes -
Enable more efficient shaping of blocks. Currently they are ovals, I would like text to be more compact like a round edged square.
Right now the text bubbles just get longer and longer instead of wider. I would like, based on the length of the text entered, the bubble to both elongate and widen. It would improve readability and work flow.

Compatibility with Grammarly
I love the new notes functionality in Mindmup 2.0! Recently I've been using the Grammarly Chrome plugin for checking my spelling and grammar, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with notes in MindMup, it will recommend changes but by clicking into Grammarly it deactivates the notes window so any changes through Grammarly are instantly lost. This isn't a major bugbear, but it does make writing long text sections less convenient.
Many thanks
Tom

Multiple Siblings to have a single Child
When creating multiple siblings I would like to flow them all into one child node, this would allow a continued flow of thought without leaving a child node open ended. When this idea I can go from 3 sibling to 1 child to 3 siblings again. Currently I cannot do this.

add support for animated gif
it would be cool if there would be support for animated gif
there are awesome animated icons which are very small in sizeMindmup currently does support it when you creating your mindmap
but when you publsh it, it won't be supportedI also suggest making very small library of animated icons of about 50 pixel in size
this website is selling about 50 colorful animated icons

drill down
when im using mindmup online with google drive, when i try pasting the link of the sub map on a node, and when i click again, it just opens in another window, where i again have to open it using mindmup. a proper drill down is where everything happens in the same windows with ease of switching back and forth seamlessly. it is one feature mind maps absolutely need. people who dont think so are the one who havent used this feature, like on xmind.

Change every occurrence of the words "Mindmap"/"Map" to "Mindmup"/"Mup".
It would sound so much better

Show users viewing map
Currently multiple users viewing the same map updates in realtime- this is great, but it doesn't show who is currently viewing the map and it also doesn't show who is making what changes.
Some collaboration functionality would go a long way. Think of how google currently handles doc/sheets collaboration.

Paste an image from clipbard directly into a node with cmd-V.
Wouldn't be cool to be able to paste an image from the clipboard directly into a node? You could easily grab content from the web/webinars/... and add your comments into child nodes!
When you later open the map the rich/visual content will give you much more content and context!
Pasting the image into a node should also resize it automatically (not ask me to do it).9 votes -
Connect multiple parent nodes to a child node in argument mode, using the same argument conventions.
Being able to 'connect' two nodes and have a child coming off underneath them both (like an upside-down of the bracket that already exists) would be super useful for being able to visually represent multiple conclusions from one basic thesis in the standard argument conventions style. (Arrows just don't look right, and don't give the same meaning)

Allow none-straight connectors to another node
The connector to another node can now be only a straight line which is crossing nodes in between. Allowing curved lines can avoid this. See screenshot here https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoTEPzFpl2EYovhEawuU-H_63X1ZWQ?e=5sr8MT
