Ability to add information to the connector, not just the node.
Sometimes, you need to be able to describe the relationship between nodes, not just place information in the node. Please add the ability to put an expandable description to the connector, and enable different line types, such as dotted lines, double lines, etc.
you can now click connections between nodes and set the colour, line type and add a text label.

I am happy to see this feature appear! However, where I think it is really needed is on the 'connect to another node' object because it often needs an explanation of what the relationship is, not just that a relationship exists outside of the mindmap's natural hierarchy.
Imagine, for example, a group of people collaborating on a document. "This should really go over here" is a common comment from co-editors.
For extra coolness, I'd love to have text labels follow the line, like the spline-hugging text possible in vector graphics programs. :)
I have no ideas about how these might export into an outline or document though...

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL FEATURE WE NEED!!!!!! I would give this ALL my votes if Possible!
At our U of Mn Medical School we want to use MindUP as a CONCEPT MAP tool, concept maps are learning frameworks and to make them work you often MUST label the connection line with TEXT that explains the relationship between the linked nodes!!!!

this is a critical, valuable feature, concept mapping is certainly an application that MindMUP should support, and I also like the idea of more flexible lines, dots, doubled, arrow head at both ends, etc. would be powerful when indicating info flows between nodes

The addition of the ability to add information to the connector is a powerful tool for educators who are wanting to provide a concept mapping tool for students. The power in using unique connecting words between nodes comes from the author of the map needing to construct how the two nodes are related which parallels what the brain is doing when it assimilates new information. This additional feature will greatly enhance the power of MindMup for students working to construct new knowledge that connects with their previous understanding of related concepts.

Totally agree with this sugestion

I created mindmup that demos a possible workaround and a possible course of action to get this idea implemented: http://goo.gl/VsMqxy

This is important. Especially on those connections which are dotted lines and not just parent/child relationships. Without being able to add text, it's hard for the reader of the map to understand what those connections mean.

this makes sense for me : a node which represents a features has some tech sub nodes, configs items, etc

Other tools have this concept - e.g. mindomo. We are doing a kind of concept mapping for a new UI and it would be great to have the ability to indicate additional information about the links between objects.

This is actually the realm of Concept Mapping, not just Mind Mapping, but, besides the semantics, it would be rather useful.
