collaborating on a mindmup simultaneously
several person can working simultaneously on a same mindmup, during a no collocated workshop. The map is updated in realtime.
we enhanced collaboration significantly over the weekend. you can now see who is online, follow them automatically and work on the same node together… See http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/05/how-were-making-collaboration-more.html for more info

If you worry about "beyond Drive", just create your API agnostic abstraction and map it to Drive for the time being.

Start with Drive only.
See if people like it.

Drive-only should be good :)

Google Drive Realtime should make it relatively easy to do.

Drive-only maps would definitely make sense in this case since the google docs concept for collaborating is already known and wide spread; I like the idea!

We were looking into this earlier. there are a few options. google drive seems to offer an API where people can simultaneously work on drive files. This could be done relatively easily but would effectively be limited to Drive files (so offline maps or those stored on our system would not support it).
Another option is to run it through a queue service and support all maps, but this would significantly increase hosting costs for us, so we'd most likely have to charge for it.
Would Drive-only maps make sense in this case?
