What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

change your logo
come on ! you have a professional tool and a childish logo
it doesn't help when you say "let's use this new tool, it's great"3 votesthis is not a work objective. please describe proposals as work objectives – something that you would be able to do and cannot do now, and explain why that would be beneficial.
if you want to start a general discussion on our logo or something similar, the google+ community is a much better place for it: https://plus.google.com/communities/112831595986131146219

Support OPML format (e.g., export to OPML format, accept imports of OPML-formatted files)
Greater Interoperability
This would enable greater interoperability between MindMup and other mind mapping tools.
A "Standard Format" (ish)
At least 14 other mind mapping tools support OMPL formats option. But those other tools don't have the zero friction model, open source generosity, dramatically improving awesomeness, or "the people have spoken so we will respond" democratic principles of MindMup.
3 votesclosing this due to lack of response. if you want to discuss it, resubmit or leave a comment on this thread.

Licensed stand-alone program
Avoid the need to be online - store in local file or optionally sync with online account(s).
3 votesthere’s already mindmup desktop, which you can use for free and store files locally https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mindmup-desktop-free-mind/eealagocaipaflcjmeapmobpmilffopi?hl=en

Import/export colours in Freemind
Freemind XML has a COLOR attribute on nodes, it would be great if this was honoured on import/export
3 votesmindmup does not support custom font colors for nodes at the moment, only background colors. We import BACKGROUND_COLOR from freemind, but the foreground color can’t be imported as there is nothing to receive it. I suggest proposing a new idea to allow custom font colors, if that gets enough votes we’ll do freemind import as part of that.

Bring up file dialog for exporting to local file
This is already done for importing, just needs to be extended to exporting. That way I should be able to overwrite my local version.
3 votesthis is pretty much under your control, you need to set up the browser to ask where to save downloaded files. your browser is probably configured to just download files automatically to the Downloads folder or something like that.

All the nodes (parent, child, sibling) to have a checkbox
Is it possible for all the nodes (parent, child, sibling) to have a checkbox? That way, status of activities can be tracked much easily.
Only when all children are marked complete, the parent checkbox should be allowed to take a tick or wrong sign.
2 votesyou can use http://blog.mindmup.com/p/monitoring-progress.html for pretty much the same thing

Allow google signed-out interactions for maps shared with anyone with the link
it would be quite useful to be able to contribute to a mindmup document saved in drive and shared with "modifications allowed by anyone with the link".
The Google docs app allows for example drive-stored docs be edited without having a google account, users appear as anonymous avatars, and this still allows real-time interactions.
This is quite useful for the case of collaborating real-time on a map with people that don't have a google account.
The mindmup document remains only accessible to people with the link, and is not publicly listed/indexed.
2 votesthis is a limitation of the Google API and not something we can influence on our end.

Improving drag and drop of nodes.
Right now this doesn't really work as expected. One always has to guess a bit where to drop the nodes over other ones in order move them.
2 votesI’m still unsure about what exactly should be improved, and due to lack of comments I’m closing this one so that people can use their votes on other ideas.

editing lay-out of nodes
WHY: it gives extra opportunities to express the meaning of a node (more important, less important, grouping nodes...); it's a way of structuring by lay-out
- font
- font color
- font size
- node color (already exists)
- connection color and width
2 votesthis is a duplicate of https://mindmup.uservoice.com/forums/200447-what-should-we-focus-on-next-/suggestions/3799679-formatting-the-selected-text-in-node- – and the other one seems to have more votes. I’m sorry but I don’t know how to merge two suggestions, so I’ll close this one and we’ll let the other one pop up to the top with the votes.

Drill in
ability to have a map inside a node
1 voteyou can already do this, just grab the link to the sub-map and paste into the node in your parent map, where you want to provide drilling in from

auto save on mindmup v2.0
So I use mindmups to study, and the automatic save doesn't work for me. Suppose I open a map and then expand a node, but I don't want it to automatically save the change-what do I do then?
1 votethis is not clear – it seems that you’re proposing auto-save for 2.0 (which is does out of the box), but then complaining that it doesn’t work for you? If you’re reporting a bug, please send an e-mail to contact@mindmup.com, don’t report bugs here. If you’re proposing a change, please explain better what you want to do differently.

Use Ace Editor for custom css styling
It should be fairly easy to add Ace editor (http://ace.c9.io/) to the textarea used for editing CSS.

I understand that Mindmup is zero friction, but I'd love a completely optional log-in option so that I could access my maps zero-friction from all over the world
1 voteUmar – store your maps to google drive, dropbox or github, and then you’ll be able to easily access them from any device.

New mindmup update-v2.0 not the best!
I find the older version of mindmup much better-I think you guys are trying to automate too much of the interface in the new version. I think that what is most important is usability-which the previous version is successful for. The more you try automate features, the less usability.
1 voteHi,
what exactly are you proposing here? this is a site for proposals, not for complaints. Please suggest improvements.

Live Link to Workflowy
You're both basically "massive outlining" utilities, fast, slick, simple - and suit the two ways we think - textually and graphically. Sometimes I want to see my outline like a mindmap, sometimes I want to see my mindmap as an outline. You two combine forces and...you could takeover the world.
1 voteyou can see the map as an outline now by exporting to HTML or text.

Better presentation
There are no screenshots? Nor short video how to use/how it looks?
Unfortunately this brings users (community) as participation is also reporting BUGs & creating guides, translations etc... but these apparently are still missing....1 vote -
Animate nodes
When you use a mind map as a presentation tool ,it is nice to be able to hide nodes and let them apere when you klick on them.
1 votewe’ll be building a separate presentation extension, so this isn’t going to be included in the basic view
