What should we focus on next?

MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

  1. Allow sharing of dropbox stored maps

The current dropbox integration utilises the app storage within Dropbox. This limits the ability to share the map beyond the immediate user.

I'd like to be able to have a dropbox stored map available to multiple users (by storing it in a standard folder), so that I can collaborate when I'm around and have others viewing or working while I'm not.

  2. Improve Readability : Automatically collapse nodes from a certain level and expand it with a mouseover

Particularly useful with large maps, it would be helpful to automatically collapse nodes from a certain level (defined by the user) and be able to expand it just with a mouseover.
This gives the user the possibility to manage the granularity, and it improves the readability and interactivity.

  4. support public IP for the SITE_URL

When set the SITEURL to a public IP URL, and deploy a local copy, Im able to save map to AWS S3 but not able to read from AWS S3. It only works when set a public domain name as URL.
    SITE
URL public URL for the web site instance, used to get S3 to redirect back to us. Include protocol and slashes (eg http://localhost:5000

  5. Implement HTTPS and an "always use HTTPS" option

Loving MindMup, but it seems to me that a major omission at the moment, at least if using for business purposes, is having an HTTPS version of the site and an "always use HTTPS" option, to help ensure security.

  6. Bring up file dialog for exporting to local file

This is already done for importing, just needs to be extended to exporting. That way I should be able to overwrite my local version.

  8. Support icons shown in firefox for local copy

I deployed a local copy, all of icons such as 'Zoom in' or 'Add child' not able to shown in Firefox but works with Chrom. The icon shown in Firefox is like 'F012', 'F1OC', 'F00E'. Any idea for this?

  9. Import/export colours in Freemind

Freemind XML has a COLOR attribute on nodes, it would be great if this was honoured on import/export

mindmup does not support custom font colors for nodes at the moment, only background colors. We import BACKGROUND_COLOR from freemind, but the foreground color can’t be imported as there is nothing to receive it. I suggest proposing a new idea to allow custom font colors, if that gets enough votes we’ll do freemind import as part of that.

  10. Update of the Webapplication for iOS - it doesn't work anymore, just the app

mindmup was a interesting tool for BYOD because you could edit a mindmap with different iOS without the need to install an app or to create an account. it would be great, if this would function again.

  12. Support OPML format (e.g., export to OPML format, accept imports of OPML-formatted files)

    Greater Interoperability

This would enable greater interoperability between MindMup and other mind mapping tools.

    A "Standard Format" (ish)

At least 14 other mind mapping tools support OMPL formats option. But those other tools don't have the zero friction model, open source generosity, dramatically improving awesomeness, or "the people have spoken so we will respond" democratic principles of MindMup.

  15. Make an inegration to Atlassian Confluence or create a plugin.

Im using a wiki - Atlassian Confluence all the time and I would like to use MindMup as mindmaps inside a wiki. I want ti share the awesome mindmaps with our team but mindmup.com would be another application to go to. It would be awesome to use one tool and have the MindMup plugin in Atlassian Confluence :)!

  16. Attach Google Drive FOLDERS instead of files

Attach an entire folder to a node because some nodes may require the user to attach a folder with multiple files like spreadsheets, presentations and documents.

  17. The ability to open and edit Mindmup version 2 in the iOS app

As far as I can tell, mind maps created in Mindmup 2.0 can't be opened and edited on the iOS app. The ability to do this would be amazing, as then the mind maps could be edited either on a computer or mobile device, whilst having the advantage of the better function in version 2.0.
I understand that the iOS app wouldn't have all the functions as the computer one, but at least it should be editable.

the ios app is designed for offline work. drive 2.0 app uses realtime collaboration, which only works online. you should be able to use https://drive.mindmup.com from your iOS Safari and work on the 2.0 maps on a mobile device, we’ve optimised the site to work well on touch interfaces.

You can open a 2.0 map in the app offline by exporting it (File→Download As→MindMup) and then save it to your iCloud or Drive storage. This will not support collaboration, though

  18. Export a map to Open Document Presentation format (ODF Presentation - .odp)

I would be great to export the hole map or even better the slides created in Storyboard, to Open Document Presentation format. It's ODF Presentation (.odp).
Thus all users will be able to edit the presentation using LibreOffice. It would be better to support this format.

  19. Save open tabs.

Some of my maps require web research.

For each map requiring research I have a particular set of web pages in chrome tabs open.

I would like to be able to place a link/shortcut in a node such that when it is clicked the appropriate set of tabs will all open in my browser.

i currently use a Chrome Extension called session buddy to save those tabs and open them when needed...but it would be exceedingly smooth to be able to invoke such a link from within the map.

As I go from map to map (project to project) I…

  20. Missing the old text-input color picker!

There seems to be less colors auto-suggested when picking colors with text-input (shit + space) in mindmup 2.0.

I gotta admit I don't remember all the names of the colors I liked to use. The old auto-suggest feature made picking colors with the keyboard surprisingly effective, and I would love to see it back.
