keeping track of versions while collaborating
WHY: the google drive connection is great; but what if people don't have a google account (which would be stupid of course :-) ) or if a company does not allow third parties to connect with google drive (companies using google apps and applying restrictions on the use of google drive with third parties)
sharing is nice!
but: when edited by someone: it results in a new mindmap
now we have to keep on communicating on the new URL
it would be nice to have an automatic way to see new versions
also: commenting (without editing) would be a nice feature to avoid too many versions and changes by too many people
but I agree... this is a difficult one when people are not logged in :-/
ok, as discussed, closing this one, try to talk to your admins and let’s see what next if that doesn’t work out.

I think I need to ask admins to allow google drive and mindmup to work for the company domain: we want storage in the cloud, not locally.
-
Alternatively, would your company be OK with running mindmup storage locally? We don't have that option yet, but perhaps that's a good solution. then this could override maps, as you're running it yourself, and could have permanent URLs
-
If MindMup is useful to your colleagues, can you talk to admins about allowing google drive and mindmup to work for your domain?

I don't think dropbox integration would help in this particular case: dropbox is not used by the company nor allowed; in this case it's the policy of the company which is too strict unfortunately; I believe co-workers always will find a workaround to deal with that... so no worries ;-)
-
would dropbox integration help? we're trying to keep the S3 service zero-friction, so adding authentication and history there would significantly complicate it for that use case.

I experience this problem right now: I have a work-google apps account (using company name domain), but I can't use the google drive functionality because the company does not allow third parties to authenticate with the google apps account. That means I can't use MindMup for work using google drive as the place to save and share the maps with colleagues.
With my personal gmail account it works perfectly though. -
Is this a problem for you personally, or are we talking about some potential theoretical company in the future?
