Hotkey to split node at cursor position
The goal: while editing the contents of a node, press a hotkey combination and all text or content after the blinking cursor would be instantly cut into a new sibling node directly under the current node.
How is it helpful:
Instantly split up large nodes into smaller nodes without selecting, cutting, creating new node, and pasting.
Reorganize nodes that became too large as you were writing and flushing out an idea.
Reorganize nodes after realizing that contents are better expressed/organized as children or siblings.
Chopping up pasted information and quickly organizing the important bits while deleting the garbage.
I primarily use mindmaps for note-taking and distilling important reference information in a way that my mind understands and organizes it. I often have to paste information into a mindmap from different sources with sometimes wildly different formatting. This information is sometimes a bullet list, which becomes just one big chunk of data in a single node when pasted. It's an enormous pain to switch back and forth from a source to the mindmap, selecting only a "node's worth" of information at a time.
