An error occurred while saving the comment Marcel Waldvogel commentedI rather like the "F" (fold) key; it prevents me from accidental folds/unfolds when reorganizing the map.

Hi,
you can use shift+drag to pull nodes far or close (http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/09/use-shiftdrag-to-manually-position-nodes.html) – how is what yuo propose different from that?
An error occurred while saving the comment Marcel Waldvogel commentedI only got to know about shift-drag in this forum; it might be documented more obviously.

An error occurred while saving the comment Marcel Waldvogel commentedI second Zac: Having another layout option (or a better layout algorithm) for wide branching is more helpful and scalable than manual layout (except maybe for a few nodes, but there we have shift-drag)
Measurements ("M") provides something like this. However, the numbers are not directly summed (which the MindMup guys might consider changing, *HINT*), but you have to select the subtree first ("{").
