What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Save to Non-Github git repository
Save to a git repository with specifying URI "git://~~~".
I want to save a mindmap to a non-Github git repository. Because Github private repository is not free. Git is not only Github.

Aggregate numbers from child nodes
I really like the way Memofon lets you sum numbers up from child nodes (go to http://www.memofon.com/playground and select calculation from examples). I would love to be able to sum up units from nodes in MindMup, especially in conjunction with with Progress extension

layers
Incorporate the possibility of layers.
E.g. the same root node could have different children on different layers. [They could remain visible by having different levels of transparency (probably a max of 3 layers for clarity here?)] Thus the same root node could be explored in different contexts represented by the layers themselves.
One example (obviously users can create their own use-metaphors) might be that the root node represents a 'cause' with child nodes representing 'effects'. Different layers could show the effects of the root node "cause", given differing contexts- i.e. the cause has different effects in differing environments. However -…

Associating metadata with nodes to enable linear sorts and alternative layouts
Another user suggested alternative layouts like hierarchical views, but another layout that would be useful for me is a linear sort to be able to see nodes in order of when they were created/edited. This would require associating timestamp metadata with each node. I'm not sure if this is already done, but even if it is, being able to sort over this metadata would be awesome.
The suggestion for alternative layouts is here: http://mindmup.uservoice.com/forums/200447-what-should-we-focus-on-next-/suggestions/4126728-provide-alternative-outline-view

Replace ancestors with "..."
I would like to be able to replace all ancestors of a node with a special node. For example, I click on a grandchild, activate this feature, and the parent and grandparent disappear and are replaced with a single node that looks like "...", or something like that. This lets me focus on a small portion of a map.

copy image of selected nodes to clipboard
Tools like omnigraffle, and powerpoint support the feature of copying the current selection to a clip-board as image, after which it is possible to paste it to another software e.g. blog, word, powerpoint etc.
As a project manager in order to create documentation faster I need to copy paste images from my mindmups.
I know there is a workaround (export the map as a file, select a file name, after which insert image using menu and browsing it from the file system), but this is just too many steps.

A hotkey and a toolbar shortcut to make open "all the nodes" at one go
This kind of thing will help when the map is big and you want to save mindmup in image(PNG) format

Export a readable image of a small map
I have a small map, let's say 4 nodes. I want to export it to PNG and use it a presentation. However, exporting ignores zoom level. So I get a small image, which is useless for presentation. The workaround is to capture screen and crop the image in a browser, but this leaves one node with a selection and the background is not transparent.

Crosscutting Feature with Nodeannotation or Tagging
Hey,
there are things which span on a different level across.
As an example: Think about a Mindmap with Services. Like Web, Database, Email etc. and every one of those 'nodes' need information about how to backup its data.
What you would do without crosscutting: You would make an backup node on every one of those nodes.
With an annotation or an Tag, you can add a Backupannotation (with content).
The benefit is quite simple: you can have an list view where you see all annotations and all nodes annotated with it. It will generate an 'Backupinformationlist' automaticly.
Perhaps an…

If the initial node has text too long when clicking on File the "X" is not on the same line as the text.

Support OPML import and export
This feature request (from someone else) was closed before, but resubmitting as requested. This would make MindMup an attractive alternative to MindNode.
9 votesyou can now export mindmup 2.0 maps to OPML.
If you use google drive, use https://drive.mindmup.com
if you use free storage or Gold storage, use https://app.mindmup.com

Export links to Freemind.
Currently node links export to Freemind as text. (Also, the HTML tags are not closed.) Please fix!

Insert Tab
I would appreciate an insert tab where I can add features to my map that I can not access in Mindmup, but can elsewhere. I would especially appreciate being able to insert a graph or table from a spreadsheet.
Example of an Insert Tab
Insert Tab
-From Google Drive
**
-Task (for a to-do list)
-Image
-From file
-Google Image search**
-Take you to your Google Drive; select document; select portion of doc. to insert into Mindmup)
-Allow changes made to portion of selected document to change across both Drive and Mindmup7 votes -
Smoother transitions while editing multiple existing attachments.
To edit multiple attachments, the smoothest process seems to be:
1) Select node
2) Press A
3) Click edit button (don't take hand off mouse for ctrl+enter)
4) Use mouse to place cursor
5) Move mouse hand to keyboard to work
6) ctrl+enter to save (usually multiple times because the esc key is a "delete everything instantly forever" button at this point)
7) hit esc and begin the process againI think a better process would go something like this:
1) Click paperclip on node: attachment opens, already in edit mode, cursor position saved from last time
2) Move mouse…2 votes -
Allow similar version control integration to bitbucket accounts
WHY: bitbucket is a great alternative (especially for some side projects with free private repos!) to github.

Connection measurement (strength, length, value)
If switched on, the user will be able to give each connection a value, and depending on that value, the connection line will be longer or shorter. This will enable contextual connections: for example, if the mindmap captures project dependencies, those lines will be used to show the length of time that the child of a node will take to be completed.

Alternative key bindings
I'd like to be able to define my own key bindings.
