The current mind map plugins are to rudimentary for capturing students multilayered concepts.15 votes
WHY: bitbucket is a great alternative (especially for some side projects with free private repos!) to github.10 votes
If switched on, the user will be able to give each connection a value, and depending on that value, the connection line will be longer or shorter. This will enable contextual connections: for example, if the mindmap captures project dependencies, those lines will be used to show the length of time that the child of a node will take to be completed.5 votes
I'd like to be able to define my own key bindings.
I want to use vi-like hjkl to move around but this would also enable freemind/freeplane key bindings4 votes
When i link to wikipedia i'd like their icon to show next to my node. Or if it is an image to show an image icon. Youtube icon etc to provide some visual context on what is behind the link.
Thank you, i love what i see so far.10 votes
In GMail one gets a great popup w/ all of the hotkeys by pressing '?'. It's a great way to lookup a hotkey without taking your hands from the keyboard7 votes

Adding files (word files, excel, etc.) to branches is very useful. It would be great to be able to do so in the comments part. One can currently go to e.g. ge.tt upload the file and then paste the url. Doing this faster through direct integration with ge.tt would be huge. :-)1 vote
Support Drag and Drop of Links onto Nodes, so I can add a link to a node by just dragging from another web page or from the address bar.
I often want to link a node to a web page and this would be a quick and easy way to do that (I know there are other ways already i.e. "attachements"). Not sure if current browsers support this type of operation, but if they do I would like this feature.20 votes
I am a fan of the notes and alerts features, using them for task management.
1) At this time exporting a Mindmup file to FreeMind results in lost notes. Please fix this.
2) FreePlane is the "new" FreeMind, with additional features in Time and Tasks management. Tighter integration of Mindmup with FreePlane would be very beneficial.
3) It would be great if Gmail tasks can be integrated with Mindmup to create an excellent visual task management environment. Thanks!17 votes
I dont know if its appeared but the possibility of creating a plugin that allows you to map a hyperlink and a selected text from a website4 votes
Would be nice to be able to bring up the shortcut window on the same screen rather then a redirect to a page. Much like the floating menu window7 votes
please allow mindmup to act as rails engine so that it can be integrated with other rails apps seamlessly.
Would like to support summary (using brace), which let me to put some comment/summary for a set of nodes1 vote
i’m not sure I understand this. Can you give us a more detailed example? Also, how would this be useful, what would that enable you to do with a map better?
It could be nice to highlight a node and its children by creating a colored zone around the concerned node.4 votes
Save notes to a notebook in evernote.96 votes
The new Atlas publishing option creates static HTML from mind maps, and you can then easily pull this into evernote. See http://discover.mindmup.com/atlas
Does this give you what you need, or is there something else that we need to consider regarding Evernote?
Ability to store files to any restful webservice, either by providing an existing URI (PUT) or a creation URI (POST)
This could be used in order to integrate MindMup to existing Document Management Sytems4 votes
One feature I see in lots of other mind maps is a small table in the node, thus giving the user the ability to list longer lists of related information without having to create many extra nodes.14 votes
we have the concept of attachments – where you an add lots of rich text stuff including tabular info. (http://blog.mindmup.com/p/working-with-attachments.html)
What would you get with table nodes that current attachment support doesn’t give you?
** Current behavior **
In the rich text attachment editor
(1) make the part of the string be highlighted by dragging
(2) press the hyperlink button on the menu bar
(3) enter a URL
(4) press the Add button
Clickable URL is added to the top position of the attachment.
And the dragging part of string(1) becomes marked gray.
** Proposal **
The highlighted part above of the string itself becomes clickable.6 votes
As far as I can see, the user interface is only available in English. This is be a big hurdle for those people that don't speak English. The user should be able to choose the interface language and the choice should stick between sessions.
Ideally the language could be specified as part of the access URL, so we can give it away to our users and be sure they will be accessing the application in the right language from the start.43 votes
