I use Excel to manage projects for everyone in my group. I'm the only one who finds Mind Maps to be intuitive, so the Excel sheets are very much needed. Without the ability to export to Excel with the Mind Map item properties carrying over, I waste a LOT of time manually updating the Excel entries.
Mindjet Mind Manager does this, why can't Xmind?

difficult to say if this means xmind import, excel export or multiple sheets or many other things. I guess for clarity this should be split up into multiple features to get a proper voting.
+1 for excel export -

it would be very useful for me to be able export the organization created by using mind mup to excel.

I personally have dozens of Xmind Maps and I know that the format is relatively easy import. As the previous commenter noted, it's a zipped XML file. I don't necessarily need to have multisheet support but would be fine if we could have them split and namespaced on import.

Well, for new (and better) tools to succeed the developers allow professional users to move their existing documents into new apps.
We manage several projects with several new clients every year and we introduce them to Xmind which is easy for them to adopt. However, Xmind does not integrate with GDrive which we would need.
It would be really good if Xmind format (zipped XML, I believe) could be imported into MindMup. I am convinced MindMup would get even more popular quickly.
