chat window and/or comments in collaboration
Could we have a chat window incorporated into the collaboration sessions along with a way to add comments that stay with the session after it's closed (without adding a node) kind of like Google docs does now? I think this would improve the collaboration capabilities a lot!
what kind of comments would you like to leave? can you give us a few examples? how would that improve the collab capabilities?

I think the idea of collaboration should be expanded on. One thing I would find useful would be simply having the ability to see who created a node! Maybe there is a way to do this and I don't see it yet. But definitely being able to have a mind session would be super useful

Other features of google doc-style comments would help with asynchronous collaboration--such as being notified when somebody adds a comment containing your email address, or when somebody replies to a question or comment you have posted

just copy the google docs interface at comments and chat, it's simple and great

A chat window would allow users to see which parts should be done in which way, much like Google Docs allows. Comments would make collaboration easier because users would know what is left to do, and where exactly the work has to be done (e.g. Brainstorm two more ideas under this node; find sources to support point 1 of this node, in the near future). This would help quite a lot, making this a lot closer to Google Docs' collaboration abilities, which are renowned..
Anyways, THANK YOU to all teh developers here! You guys a re really doing a great job and have my salute! :D

Thanks for your response! So if I'm collaborating with a group I might have a comment like, "Do you think this node belongs under X instead of Y?" where I want to see what people think before making the change. Or maybe I want to add a node or a link and explain the changes. In both cases if there was a chat box, I could type my comments real time, and if I were able to leave a comment attached to the map, then it could be saved with the other session changes and someone else could join the session later and see and reply to my comments even if I wasn't online. It would help with asynchronous collaboration.
I came across this while trying MindMup out with a friend, where we wanted to communicate, but not in a way that it would make sense to be adding anything to the map. As a work-around we opened a google chat box and used that for real-time communication. And for the asynchronous piece, we typed our comments in nodes, which was fine for our purposes, but I think with really involved maps and many collaborators it would be nice to have the comment feature so people can easily find, reply to, and refer to the comments without messing up the map. I hope this helps!
