move nodes where I want
I would simply like to have enough control to move the nodes where I want to balance the image and make use of space.

This is a show stopper that prevents me from using MindMup. I want to place things where I want, connect them as I want, add a new root node at any time, prevent MindMup from automatically using some style that is irrelevant to what I want to do. In general, I want to be in control, not MindMup. As a result, I find MindMup completely unusable. There is no simple fix for this problem, it is a conflict of mindsets and ways of working so I do not expect any change. Moving single nodes works, for example, but selecting a group of nodes does not. Selecting groups of nodes based on the hierarchical document structure is insufficient. What you have is reasonable but everything should be overridable.

I am unable to use Shift+Drag with MindMup 2.0 in Google Drive on Chrome. Also this goes back to several other very requested features, includes the second highest vote getter!

have you tried the Shift key + drag? this allows some customized movement

Pierre - just drag a node and drop it on its parent, it becomes automatically positioned again

The pb is, in v2.0, when you move nodes manually there is no way to put them back in the automatic layout

This is available in version 2.0 - I use chrome on both windows and a chromebook and this works in the way you suggest it should!
