What should we focus on next?

MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

  1. I came across another program where you can input freestyle several concepts and do the relationships later.

Freestype inputs and establishing sibling, child relationships later. This has the advantage of not blocking the free thinking side of the brain interrupted by the logical side.

  5. Implement costs cells (ex 'measurements'), times cells and Gantt chart generation ?

Hello, to be able to write some cells for costs measurements (with an automatic total) and some times cells to have Gantt chart generation could improve this amazing and easy tool to the top of what I need.
    Don't you ?

  6. Generate Gantt charts with dates i/o and costs for common project tasks management

To clic a button to generate Gantt charts with noted dates (begin & end) and costs calculation for common project tasks management could be a very good improvement to MindMup, you don't think so ?
Also of course if the dates can also be linked to Google Agenda in the same time, it could be an heaven !

  7. Link Mindmup maps to a time scale

I like to use mind maps for Objective Based planning because it allows the teams to determine the required logic behind what needs to take place. This is often a very manual job using a team and a planning wall. Mindmud has most of the required capability such as the ability to add multiple measures to a node (duration, resources, cost, etc...)

What would be required is the addition of linking a measure to a time scale, the ability to constrain a node to a particular spot and the linked notes build from that point on, strait lines that link…

  8. Multiple Siblings to have a single Child

When creating multiple siblings I would like to flow them all into one child node, this would allow a continued flow of thought without leaving a child node open ended. When this idea I can go from 3 sibling to 1 child to 3 siblings again. Currently I cannot do this.

  9. Please revert to the old map traversing

In the past I could go with keyboard to leaves of some OTHER parent only through the parent. Since once it became unconventional. Now if I am on a leaf and want to add a new leaf to the OTHER parent I often have to take my mouse, because it is FASTER than with the keyboard. Prior I could do it with ONLY the keyboard. Please revert it to the old map traversing.

The idea is simple. Integration with google dictionary. If I select some word, I would like to have its definition and hear how it should be pronounced.

  11. Apply a measurement status of 'parked' to a node to exclude it's measurement from the parent node computed measurement.

This would allow me to compare the relative value of including or excluding options from the overall cumulative measure (the Goal)

  12. when searching, it would be

when searching, it would be great if hovering over each option brings us to the node.. so that even if there are mutiple nodes with the same content, we can easily see which one is the one we want to go to, without having to click on each one and search again to click on the next one

  14. keep first child node on the right (aka map theme for "folder-like" hierarchy)

It would über helpful to have a map theme where the first child node stays on the right of its parent.

Today, the first child node is on the right but as soon as you add a sibling, the first node goes up which is not what I want. I really want the first node to stick on the right of the parent (on an imaginary horizontal line) and its other siblings to go down.

The idea is to have a "folder like" view that you can easily fold/unfold.

the fast hyperlink on the node is very convenient, what about converting also the urls starting with file:// and allow the user quickly accessing their local filesystem in the browser?
