What should we focus on next?

MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

What would you like to be able to do?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  4. Ability to select G Drive folder for "Download as - Upload to Drive" menu option

    When a map is downloaded as a Outline, Notes, or PPT slide deck the "Upload to Drive' option always puts the created file in the root folder of G Drive.

    Can this be changed to allow selection on folder file will be uploaded to? As an alternative, can it be made to put uploaded file in same folder as the map it was created from?

  5. Export direct to GDOC format, not just DOCX

    The export as Outline has an option for 'MS-Word/Google Writer' but only exports .DOCX format.

    This is a major problem for a Chromebook user like myself. The Chromebook won't natively open .DOCX format files, so If I download the file to local storage I can't open it. If I upload to G Drive I get one chance to open in G Doc when previewing the file. If I close the preview it is saved as DOCX format and I can't open it.

    Can the ability to save in native G Doc format be added to the Download as -> Outline…

    How about being able to anchor a node to the page so it can't be accidentally moved? With the facility to un anchor it if required.

  7. Offline Desktop for Mindmup 2

    I'm a bit late to the ballgame and have found that the mindmup legacy google-chrome extension is no longer available in 2017. Working offline for notes and research organization is immensely helpful on-the-go between meetings and classes.

    Can either the original legacy mindmup offline chrome extension be reinstated for use with local files or a mindmup 2 desktop chrome extension be made available?

  8. Create a save button

    There is NO save button on my browser and NO save button in any of the tabs (File, Insert, Edit, Help, etc.) so I assumed that work done would be automatically saved as it is linked to my Google Drive. This apparently is not the case though as when I went to consult the MindMup that I had spent more than 4 hours creating, everything was gone. How are you supposed to know that it is required to save work when there is no button/option to save and there is no warning to save work?

  9. Export colores of nodes to Freemind - nodes as bubbles with background color

    Expected behaviour:
    When I set background colors of nodes in MindMup, so my tree is happy colorful,
    I would love it to be colorful after export to FreeMind.

    Observed behaviour:
    It's black on white

    To be done:
    * set background colours of nodes in FreeMind according to ones in MindMup

    Bonus:
    * In FreeMind there are two nodes styles: fork, buuble. Consider changing nodes types according to what's set in MindMup for even better visual similarity.

  11. Export to ISO paper format (A4) & native Google DOCS formats

    I am thrilled at the new MindMup features such as storyboard, notes, etc. but disappointed a the export feature.

    1. I would like export to Docs & Slides (Google Docs) native formats (no conversion)

    2. I would like the export be ISO paper size (A4) to Docs (No Imperial "Letter" size, I am outside the USA)

    3. I would like the export to be format 16:9 for Sheets (that is the default format in Sheets)

    Notes: when I export to PowerPoint and open it in Sheets, the Master template displays a message "Layout nor recognized"

  12. inserting Quizzes!!

    in order to use mindmup as e-learning tool, we need the ability to add a question inside a branch

    the branches that contains question should have clickable icon just like notes.
    when the user click on it, a question would appear in the same way when the user click on a note.

    I recommend that a branch should contains only one question that take the form of True/False or Multi choice or Matching questions

    I also suggest that there should be default sound effects when the user make a correct answer or wrong answer.

    currently you can insert video and audio links but you have to open new tab in browser and leave your mindmap

    that's not user friendly!!

    videos and audio have to be embedded inside, just like the inserted notes works. so that users won't leave the mindmap

  17. add support for Image note!!

    currently Mindmup does support attaching Images
    but from my experience, it's only useful for icons of 50 pixels in size!
    because large image would mess up the look of the map

    so I suggest adding what I call "Image note"
    when adding them, they would not appear on map, instead it would add a tiny interactive icon just like when adding notes

    when the user click on it, the Image would appear just the like the note would appear

  18. add support for animated gif

    it would be cool if there would be support for animated gif
    there are awesome animated icons which are very small in size

    Mindmup currently does support it when you creating your mindmap
    but when you publsh it, it won't be supported

    I also suggest making very small library of animated icons of about 50 pixel in size

  19. Rename measures

    Once you create them, there is currently no way to change the name. I created a mind map, started a budget category that I realized was too specific and wanted to change it, but there is no way to do so as it now stands. Should be a simple fix...

  20. Integrate with Slack

    Ability to share maps with distributed teams via Slack would be great than send emails. Currently, it posted as plain text which is not very helpful.
