What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Ability to draw an association link/line between one node any other node
Sometimes you want to be able to draw an association, or dependency between different nodes. Ability to draw a line between nodes linking them would help show the association/dependency.
1 voteyes, this is a duplicate. we have the thing almost working but can’t agree on how to make it work for touch devices. should be out soon

Support OPML format (e.g., export to OPML format, accept imports of OPML-formatted files)
Greater Interoperability
This would enable greater interoperability between MindMup and other mind mapping tools.
A "Standard Format" (ish)
At least 14 other mind mapping tools support OMPL formats option. But those other tools don't have the zero friction model, open source generosity, dramatically improving awesomeness, or "the people have spoken so we will respond" democratic principles of MindMup.

we’re doing this as part of another proposal – to add custom connectors. this should be live soon.

have a standalone apk application
in android, have a standalone apk file application for us to have it installed on our phones &/or tablets.. that way, we can just simple open it up offline & anytime.. then have the feature be connected to the web for sharing &/or uploading & downloading.. just a thought though..
3 votessorry we don’t have the capacity to build anything apart from a web site at the moment.

Implement translation, for example by Google translate, Bing Translator Babylon or translatewiki.net
translation tool (which exists in G Drive ;-)

Live Link to Workflowy
You're both basically "massive outlining" utilities, fast, slick, simple - and suit the two ways we think - textually and graphically. Sometimes I want to see my outline like a mindmap, sometimes I want to see my mindmap as an outline. You two combine forces and...you could takeover the world.
1 voteyou can see the map as an outline now by exporting to HTML or text.

add labels to edges
I'd like to be able to add text labels to the edges
1 votethis is a duplicate of https://mindmup.uservoice.com/admin/forums/200447-what-should-we-focus-on-next-/suggestions/3826066-ability-to-add-information-to-the-connector-not-j
please vote on that one instead of creating a new idea, so that the votes don’t split.

upload pics
add pics, videos, links into elements
1 votelinks are already supported, have a look at this:
http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/03/hyperlinks-in-nodes.htmlif this isn’t enough and you wanted to suggest something different, please let us know in more detail what you meant.
for pics etc, I suggest you vote on this one so that it can get more votes, instead of splitting the votes:

Partition large mindmaps
I have a large mindmap with a central topic with 6 subtopics. Each subtopic could somehow be made into its own mindmap, maybe through a zooming-in like feature. Another way to implement this is to make each subtopic into its own main topic in the zoomed-in view.
WHY: So you have a big topic, and then you can zoom into each sub-topic.
[I think maybe this feature is mainly a student thing, because I am revising for a big exam on a particular topic which has several subtopics, so if I'm revising a particular subtopic in one session, I can…

Better presentation
There are no screenshots? Nor short video how to use/how it looks?
Unfortunately this brings users (community) as participation is also reporting BUGs & creating guides, translations etc... but these apparently are still missing....1 vote -
Improving drag and drop of nodes.
Right now this doesn't really work as expected. One always has to guess a bit where to drop the nodes over other ones in order move them.
2 votesI’m still unsure about what exactly should be improved, and due to lack of comments I’m closing this one so that people can use their votes on other ideas.

Animate nodes
When you use a mind map as a presentation tool ,it is nice to be able to hide nodes and let them apere when you klick on them.
1 votewe’ll be building a separate presentation extension, so this isn’t going to be included in the basic view

Require Android app
More than chrome support on android, feel more comfortable with android apps.
16 votesHi,
I propose we consolidate this with other mobile device ideas, so that it can get a significant number of votes. An Android app is not realistic for the near future. Instead, I propose we do a better interface on mobile devices in general. For that, I’ve opened another idea. Please vote on that if that seems sensible and important for you.

Show "add child" on mobile view
mindmup's interface on tablet/phone is really slow as it is right now. I think the toolbar should have a direct button for at least "add child". another way to do this would be to add the buttons dynamically depending on how much space is available on the toolbar. a final third way to do it would be to have a "+" button next to the currently selected node, which is how "simplemind for android" does it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modelmakertools.simplemindfree&hl=en
6 votesMindMup for iOS devices is now available for general use – we’re taking the Beta marker off, because we finally ensured that users of the mobile app are as productive as when using the desktop app.
For more info about the mobile app, and to install it on your iOS device, see http://discover.mindmup.com/mindmup-for-ios

i’m closing this one as there was no response to clarification questions. we support export to freemind and mindjet should be able to import that. if there is a particular thing that doesn’t work with that process, please re-submit that as a more specific idea.

Attached notes
Sometimes I find it useful to write a longer explanation/comment to a node. I realise I could use the node itself and then hide it to clean up the mindmap - but then I lose any childnodes. The function in short would be: I add a node with a "header" then attach a note (something like a post-it) which would only be shown on clicking an icon inside the "header" node. (A bonus would be to link to external files- perhaps the next step ;-) .)
0 votesas noted, a duplicate of another issue. closing this one.

keeping track of versions while collaborating
WHY: the google drive connection is great; but what if people don't have a google account (which would be stupid of course :-) ) or if a company does not allow third parties to connect with google drive (companies using google apps and applying restrictions on the use of google drive with third parties)
sharing is nice!
but: when edited by someone: it results in a new mindmap
now we have to keep on communicating on the new URL
it would be nice to have an automatic way to see new versions
also: commenting (without editing) would be a nice…1 voteok, as discussed, closing this one, try to talk to your admins and let’s see what next if that doesn’t work out.

Freemind XML interface for seamless integration of third-party applications
It would be great to make it possible to integrate business websites with mindmup by using the freemind XML format, without having to save it first to google drive.
For example we have a website where we have to manage the taxonomy in a mind map structure. We now manage this mind map in freemind It would be great to pass the mind map to mindmup to support editing mind maps in a web browser instead of installing an offline application.
6 votesI’m closing this one as there was no response to the questions. If there is a particular thing you’d like to do which is not currently supported with freemind export/import, please re-submit the idea by explaining what else you’d like to do….
