What should we focus on next?

MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

  1. Ability to format text inside bubbles like make it bold(at least)

It would be great if we could format the bubble text like we can use bold, italic, underline, highliigher, different fonts and text color so that while revising the maps we can easily find what we are looking for.

  2. Integration with Google Doc

Ability to create a linked Google Doc, eg. an indented bullet lists and or styled titles. Changing the map change the doc and vice versa.

The use case is : mapping the content of an article within MindMup and quickly jump to text editing without export / file management headache.

  3. Better COLOUR Picker + Custom Colour Option

The current choice of colours is what is stopping me from using MindMup. Even the old 216 web safe colour picker would be a big improvement. Using custom CSS styling is time consuming and for techies, not the average user.

Can you implement something like the google colour picker with an option to choose custom colours.

  6. Free dragging

The child can be anywhere not exactly beside the parent, I can drag it far or close. This allows me to shape the mind map as i see fit.

  7. Read mindmap with google spreadsheet

I would like to be able to edit a mindmap and read all of the "directory paths" from a google sheet. For example:
    Column A:
    Grandparent
    Grandparent/Parent
    Grandparent/Parent/Child
    Grandparent/ParentSibling
    Grandparent/ParentSibling/Child
    etc.
The use case here is that I would like to be able to use this list in autocomplete validation, so a row in a spreadsheet could refer to a particular position in a taxonomy that is easily editable as a mindmap.

  10. mindmup map deep urls autocenters to specific node

It is currently possible to create links between maps see http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/03/hyperlinks-in-nodes.html?showComment=1393867456889#c3163715184592638793

It would be great that these link provide ability to link to a specific node within a map. When opening this link, the specific node will be selected and centered on the middle of the screen.

I'm thinking the mindmup URL format could have an anchor part that targets a specific node.

Ideally, the browser address bar will change each time a node is selected (e.g. adding a short md5 hash of the node texte), and this link can be simply reused to deep link to that node.

    Alternatively,…

  11. Please extend the search to text within node attachments

It seems we can only search the nodes but not the text attachments. It is difficult for us to use mindmup as a note taking or collecting tools because we cannot easily search those note recorded in the attachment before. Can you help?

  13. Drag and drop all selected nodes

Currently, when multiple nodes are selected and dragged on another node, only one of the selected nodes is moved.
It would be better to be able to move all of the selected nodes to the destination node at the same time (like with Freemind)

  14. Keyboard Shortcuts for moving nodes left and right of the root

It'd be great if we can move the first level of nodes left or right using Ctrl + → or Ctrl + ←.

Keyboard shortcuts already exist to move a node up or down (Ctrl + ↑ or Ctrl + ↓).

  15. So now we have measures... while not importing a EXCEL CSV file ?

    • first line will be columns titles
    • first column will be the nodes names... nodes that will be automatically created in the map as childs of the currently selected node
    • following columns will be the measures

  17. Bind hotkeys for node colors

It'll be great to have shortcuts for user colors - i.e.:
    Ctrl+1 - red
    Ctrl+2 - green
It will be very useful to quickly change node status - for example, if you managing current tasks and switching priorities and statuses of tasks.

  18. "Isolate" a node by zooming in, collapsing siblings, and centering on a selected node

For large trees it'd be nice to have a shortcut key that in one key press:

    1) centered & zoomed on the selected node
    2) collapsed the sibling nodes to "focus" the view on the selected sub-branch

    hi,

you can create an outline now by doing file→export to local disk→text (or html). the text export creates a tab separated outline, which you can load easily in excel. the html outline creates a doc that you can load in a browser or with word/similar text editors.

How is the proposal different from the current feature?
