What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

Set default color for different level nodes
For example, level 1 nodes are grey, level 2 are blue, level 3 are cyan, etc.
18 votesthis is now supported using the new drawing engine, which allows users to define default sizes, colors, fonts etc for nodes. For more info, see http://blog.mindmup.com/p/custom-css-styling.html
we plan to work on this feature more over the next month and reduce the dependency on CSS. At the moment, styling the map requires a bit of CSS knowledge.

save to local drive or network
I would like to use mindmup with some people at work, but we do not have cloud access. So if it was possible to use Mindmup and share files on a local network folder (or on a local PC / shared folder) it would be great.
Thanks
Mark1 voteThis already works. Use Export to get a MindMup file, keep it locally and then use my maps→import to load it.

Having it support directed acyclic graphs instead of just trees would be awesome!
There are just some ideas that don't fit well into a tree structure.
42 votesYou should be able to do this now — check out https://www.mindmup.com/news/2017/09/08/concept-maps.html

floating
Ability to have more than one master node on the same map - i.e. a floating nodes. I see that other tools such as mindomo offer this feature.
93 votesyou can now add multiple roots, disconnect nodes and float them, and manage multiple maps in the same file on mindmup 2.0.
If you use google drive, use https://drive.mindmup.com
if you use free storage or Gold storage, use https://app.mindmup.com

Ability to add information to the connector, not just the node.
Sometimes, you need to be able to describe the relationship between nodes, not just place information in the node. Please add the ability to put an expandable description to the connector, and enable different line types, such as dotted lines, double lines, etc.
579 votesyou can now click connections between nodes and set the colour, line type and add a text label.

transparent items whem moving them around
When I move items to new location I have to drag it on top of another item to make it "click".
Problem is if you move a large text item on to a very small it is hard to see what you are doing ...
So I suggest that when you start dragging a item it switch to a transparent background (maybe just 50%)1 votethis was done a while ago, sorry for not updating the status earlier

Set default colour for new nodes
I'd like new nodes to take on the most recently applied colour. This will make it easier to create a map that does not use the default grey and also make it easier to add clusters of nodes sharing a colour.
29 votesthis is now supported using the new drawing engine, which allows users to define default sizes, colors, fonts etc for nodes. For more info, see http://blog.mindmup.com/p/custom-css-styling.html

Work Offline
Now that work on an offline chrome app has been killed, I'll restart a new item for simply working offline (as I don't care if it's through a Chrome App or not). Mindmeister has this feature.
Specifically I need to, at least, be able to view and edit maps offline. It would be nice to be able to create new ones.
11 votesthere is a full offline app now available as well: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mindmup-desktop-free-mind/eealagocaipaflcjmeapmobpmilffopi

I love the export to HTML outline (since I am a writer). It would be really cool to be able to import from that same format for editing.
I love the export to HTML outline (since I am a writer). It would be really cool to be able to import from that same format for batch (replace) and other types of editing. THis wouldn't even need to work very well. All I want to do is download the HTML file, change the text somewhat (not the formatting) and then import it back in again.
31 votesyou can now create HTML outlines with mindmup 2.0, just use Download As→Outline→select HTML

Embed dynamic mind map into website
Offer the possibility to incorporate dynamic mindmup (slippy-move around the map, hyperlink, deploy-collapse nodes and pop-up note) as read only, without any edition options into webpages.

Expand/Collapse _all_ under a node
Just to give some more flexibility when going through all the nodes.
4 votesthis should now be supported with out batch operations. you can read more about it here. please let me know if this doesn’t do the trick for what you need.

Hyperlinking Google Drive-stored MindMups
WHY: MindMups can become quite large, hence unwieldy and cumbersome to work with. Adding the ability to place hyperlinks in nodes which lead to other MindMups (either to the whole map or, even better, to an element of the other map) stored (permanently) on Google Drive would allow for more structure, more focus, and better "division of labour".
3 votesthis already works. every map on MindMup has a unique URL, you can just copy the one from your browser address box or get a shortened URL from the floating toolbar. Just copy&paste that into another map and you’ve hyperlinked them: http://blog.mindmup.com/2013/03/hyperlinks-in-nodes.html
If there is more to what you were suggesting, please leave a comment on this idea explaining the difference

<Tab> directly creates new node
After adding text to a node, you currently have to press <enter> and then <tab> to create a child node - in e.g. Freemind, <tab> is sufficient

Search within own mind map
Why: to find nodes within large mind maps. I have created mind maps with over 1000 nodes and the easiest way to navigate to the desired node is by searching.
185 votesYou can now search for nodes in a map – just use ctrl/cmd+f – see http://blog.mindmup.com/2014/02/use-ctrlcmdf-to-search-maps.html for more info
