What should we focus on next?
MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

A way for people to pay to gain access to their expired mindmups, at least within a year of last saved date. I was only a few days away from expiration when I remembered I should continue the work before it expires. Too late. I would definitely pay whatever it takes to get my hundreds of hours of work back.

More granular control of group permissions
Current state: when a map is shared with a group, all users in the group have whatever permission to the map the group is given, regardless of the individual user permissions within the group. This requires maintaining 2 groups (one view-only, one edit) for each map.
Future state: Let certain individual user permissions override the overall group permissions so that designated individuals within the group can have edit permissions and the rest have view-onlhy

Remove don't have permissions nag screen
Our organization would like most users to be able to expand/collapse nodes and alter the layout to suit their own needs but not make any permanent changes. Currently the only way to do that means the user gets a nag screen to "save a copy" every time they make a change. There needs to be a way for the administrator to suppress that nag screen

Assign nodes to a user
For several users sharing the same map, it would be useful to assign a node to a team member, and that user receives notifications every time the node or one of its child nodes receive an update.

resend invitation button
The invitations to sub accounts expire very soon, an then the invitees revert to the admin to ask to resend the invitation. Either you extend the lifetime of an invitation, or allow for resending the invitation. For the benefit of administrators...

Notes from imported mindmaps may show as link. Request: convert all links to notes at once
When I import a mindmap from another application, text-notes may show as link, rather than note in Mindmup. The links can be converted to not by clicking on the link-icon and choosing 'convert to note'. It would be very convenient to have an option to convert ALL links to notes in one click. When a mindmap contains multiple links this would save a lot of time.

Prevent users from sharing maps to the entire organization
Users are currently able to share maps with the entire organization. Some organizations might want that capability, but in an educational institution, it is problematic when J. Student's map of Descartes' First Meditation shows up in everyone's mindmup file list. A toggleable universal or group-based permission would work.

Drag text nodes from other applications
With a group of students, I hold a touch tablet in my hands, wtih MindMup in a Web browser.
I know which words they will propose to include into the map, so I don't want to type theses words, but just drag text from another application with a stylus.
(I mirror the Mindmup window on a video projector, so the text library should'nt be on the same Mindmup app.)1 vote -

Map theme where nodes radiate outwards in all directions
I found options to set map theme to go from left to right, top to bottom or bottom to top. However, i feel like a proper mind map should radiate outwards from some central parent node. The map themes force users to go only in one direction. In the current setup I'm using the top down standard theme and even when I have only three levels of nodes, the whole map is spread out horizontally too much. It is hard to navigate. If there was option that would surround each parent node with it's children, the whole map would be…

Sankey Diagram Builder
Sankey diagrams are incredibly powerful way to show progression over time. There are already some formats available online for free, but they don't work with the same degree of finesse, ease, and sophistication as using MindMup's typical structures.

Create auto graded argument mapping problems
Perhaps give students a set of disconnected boxes that they organize into a sensible argument map. Ideally automatically check against instructor supplied solution. If it doesn’t match, students could re-work the solution. Could greatly increase amount of basic argument mapping practice students could have access to without waiting for instructor feedback. Obviously only useful for basic/artificial maps but such practice is good for more complicated mapping.

Ability to add previews of any link, not only drive files and to insert tasks, events, and Keep notes
Actually I link nodes to calendars and Keep notes by link, but It will be wonderful to preview this links like drive documents, without open a new tab and abandon the mindmap

Auto numbering of the nodes
I would find most useful the option to autonumber each single node, so that when writing a word documenton the mindmap issue it is possible to indicate exactly the map node you are referring to
