What should we focus on next?

MindMup is community driven, so we’ll work on what our users want the most. For best results, please:
- Formulate ideas as work objectives (explain why, not just what/how). For example, ‘collaborate with friends remotely’ is much better than asking for ‘google realtime v2.0 integration’
- Do not submit stuff anonymously. We want to discuss your proposal with you if it gets votes, and anonymous submissions don’t allow us to do that. Ideas submitted anonymously will most likely be closed.

  1. Save to URI

Ability to store files to any restful webservice, either by providing an existing URI (PUT) or a creation URI (POST)

This could be used in order to integrate MindMup to existing Document Management Sytems

  2. Table Node

One feature I see in lots of other mind maps is a small table in the node, thus giving the user the ability to list longer lists of related information without having to create many extra nodes.

  4. [Improvement of hyperlink in the "rich text attachment"]

    ** Current behavior **
In the rich text attachment editor
    (1) make the part of the string be highlighted by dragging
    (2) press the hyperlink button on the menu bar
    (3) enter a URL
    (4) press the Add button

    -->Result
Clickable URL is added to the top position of the attachment.
And the dragging part of string(1) becomes marked gray.

    ** Proposal **
The highlighted part above of the string itself becomes clickable.

  5. import/export RDF

I think the Mind Map could be useful to represent some RDF graph as well, so it would be interesting to be able to import/export from/to RDF.

  7. Internationalization of the user interface

As far as I can see, the user interface is only available in English. This is be a big hurdle for those people that don't speak English. The user should be able to choose the interface language and the choice should stick between sessions.

Ideally the language could be specified as part of the access URL, so we can give it away to our users and be sure they will be accessing the application in the right language from the start.

  9. Show the number of child nodes in a collapsed branch

For collapsed braches, in addition to the node box graphic changing to a set of 4 stacked nodes (which bears no relation to how many nodes have been hidden) add a label to the stack graphic which shows the number of child nodes that are hidden eg (+23). Clicking on the stack/label or using / would then expand the child nodes. Similar to the paper click for attachments

  10. Adding attributes to nodes

Why: to enrich the nodes with additional structured data, so the mind map can be used for importing/exporting purposes. Freemind has the same feature where you can switch the visibility of the attributes.

Ctrl-<Cursor-left> & Ctrl-<Cursor-right> would be the logical shortcuts.

  12. [Partial pure text output]

I would like you to reflect the collapsed state to output of the pure text
I.E. In the case of child nodes of a certain node is collapsed、child nodes below does not output.
