Make it look more like a real mindmap to improve readibility
Main suggestions:
- text on the branches itself instead of in boxes
- (automatically) have branches and text in same color
this is now supported using the new drawing engine, which allows users to define default sizes, colors, fonts etc for nodes, with the support for defaults for levels as well. For more info, see http://blog.mindmup.com/p/custom-css-styling.html
we plan to work on this feature more over the next month and reduce the dependency on CSS. At the moment, styling the map requires a bit of CSS knowledge.

Still don't see how this completes the feature request.
Is there any example for this? All I see in the examples is, that the boxes are removed, but there no example for "text on the branch". Although most questions were answered in the blog, unfortunately nobody answered on my comment.

please allow text on branches. This would greatly help in describing the relationships and what the children represent to the parent. (ie. parent "contains" child, parent "is' optional.

As I didn't get an answer on the blog, I try it here:
I don't see any proposal to get the text on the branch, as I am used in normal mindmaps.
As this is marked as completed, there should at least be a proposal or example, not just a "t the moment, styling the map requires a bit of CSS knowledge".How can I do this via the css feature?

I like the current layout, but sometimes this would be a good alternative layout. Maybe have an option to switch?

+3 I'd like to add text on the branches too to provide a meaning with the relation between bubbles.

I would really appreciate this, too.
I work a lot with Mindmaps and need the texts on the lines. Boxes make it harder to read and memorize.
It would also make my Freemind imports look more like the originals. -

+1 for the option suggestion. I think I use Mindmup in much the same way as Fueler does.

+1 text on the branches. I use the branches to denote concepts, and nodes to denote ideas or things

Please let this be an option and not by default. One of the reasons I am using mindmup is because of how's it's rendered currently.
